This was great, I have been researching "how to talk girl you like" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Ronradoon Desirable Catch - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cousin got great results with it.

Alternate title : Just beacuse I'm not good enough/don't have the talent imma blame it men and say there is not enough representation eventhough it's a competition of talent, who cares about talent anymore

The music industry, much like the culture industry has nothing to do with talent. The industry exists for only thing specifically - Profit Maximisation. This woman, like many women, still believe in an industry - which itself is based on exploitation of labor, mind, body and perpetuated by all sorts of chauvinism, repression and control. One should BOYCOTT AND DIVEST the music industry itself. TED Talks itself is an example of sick, elitist dominant culture.

Love this! Community including female allies if you can find them are really valuable! The best thing is that going independent is easier than ever but you can't do everything on your own which is where your friends/community come in to protect you and to help one another.

Oh my god, I am writing an essay about independent female artists and your speech was absolutely breath taking. So inspiring, to understand that WE as women can take the lead on our own careers and life. Thank you for expressing the fact that you can make be by being authentic.

Honestly, this is rubbing me the wrong way. I've been working in the music industry for a while and it's got nothing to do with being male or female. This industry is brutal. Both, men and women, don't make it. It's character and hard work; It's how you approach your job. You do make valid points but it's got nothing to do with one's gender. You have to be tough, selfish and develop a thick skin. Rejection is part of this job, you're gonna be rejected more often than not. But rejection in this industry is not personal, it's business. If you stand your ground and know who needs what in their agenda you'll manage to get far, but it may not be what you have to offer. Either you make it that or you find another 'gatekeeper' as we like to call it, who is looking for exactly that. You have to be tough, think a million steps ahead and most importantly take rejection in a way that's beneficial for your work. Be the man, if that's how you'd phrase it. But in my opinion, it's got nothing to do with that. I haven't quite filtered out what niche you're primarily working in, but in mine it's key to develop your plan, get anything and everything working in your favor. Yes, you're gonna fall a million times but so does everyone working in this industry, men and women. That's how the music business works. You just have to learn how to make it work for you.

One of the most powerful TEDx talks I've seen addressing how we can move forward & support women in creative sectors like music! BRAVO Charlotte, you're doing incredible work!

This is surprisingly down to earth rant. Still, you should see what it does to men. In the music industry, honesty and fairness is missing, having a bit of that is most welcome regardless which gender it serves. Lead by example.

You forget your idol and marker of success, Avril Lavigne is also a woman. Kind of undermines the whole speech.

Thats total BS. Im very involved in the music industry and I can tell you it is massively populated by women. The vast majority of promoters, events managers, event coordinators and venue operators are women. Even in the bands I think it's pretty close to 50/50. Just look on the charts, its pretty much 50/50. Its similar to the fashion industry.

How to survive the music industry as a woman ? The same as a man . Be amazing . Imagine that you are average but you think you are special .That's when the real trouble starts.
