Hello, so ur actually saying that each family of isopod has their own unique forms and shapes to determine the difference between a male or a female? If it's armadillidium u can tell by the edge of their belly and if it's porcellionides u can tell by the length of it's Uropod? There's a very little info about that topic

All isopods species can be sexed by the underside but with the Porcellio the uropods can be used as a alternative form of sexing

I'm a year late here... but why does that one Bolivari at 5:05 in the video have a single pointed uropod, when all the others have two individual ones kinda in a V shape?

@@ScottyHunter don’t worry I’m still around, so it could either be a mutation on that single Isopod, or a problem during moulting could’ve caused it.
