Really wonderful video! I love die polish lines on coins. They tell a story. I recently showed on my channel two Morgans with the exact same die polish marks. Thank you for a great video and explanation of the minting process 😎🤙🏼

I’ve learned a lot in half a year, but this is all new to me. I found one where it goes through the field which is the background I believe, but also through Lincoln, and right up to the raised area. I’m going to continue researching this and other things, but I’m glad I found your page and definitely subscribed. Thank you! It’s crazy how my whole life changed half a year ago just finding a roll of wheat pennies I saved when I was five years old hoping they would be worth something later. Summer worth a little more, but not what I was hoping for. Regardless, I love this new life. There’s never a dull moment, because I’m always going through straps or rolls in my spare time

Hi Box. This is a very well-done video. It is very informative. Many viewers will benefit from this. BTW, I expect to receive my 2023 Proof Libertad today and my Reverse proofs very soon. I was able to order from Chitown Coins this year. Is anyone you have any update on your 2023 coins coming soon?

I have a perplexing 1887 Victoria half crown where the die polishing lines occupy the fields but do not touch the devices. They maintain an even distance around the devices. Not sure how that happened.

@thepagecollective thanks for commenting! Are you sure they aren't hairlines?

@@TheCoinBoxChannel I'll give it a closer look under a loop. The lines, however, are unidirectional and maintain a uniform distance from the devices. I'm not sure how even cleaning could do that. I have a lot of examples of die polish. The Kings Norton Mint in the UK long ago sold off its specimens and half of them, maybe more, exhibit die polishing. The specimens are from fresh dies, so it seems odd that the dies would be polished if the object is to remove dirt or die clashes. Maybe that's just how it's done. Anyway, your video showed some nice examples and did answer some questions, so, well done.
