As a sushida expert, I think I need to say, learning the romanji spellings is very important. Like, if that’s how it’s typed on regular keyboards by Japanese people, then I’d argue that’s the way. Why wouldn’t you want to get used to that? I feel like learning Japanese in romanji is important for Japanese learners as much as Japanese people. And again on the sushida thing! Very important reason behind the romanji. I did try doing they “key to kana” input thing on my keyboard, and the kana are available if I want to, but it’s really a waste. If people don’t really do that anyway, and I go from typing like 120 wpm in english to typing 4 characters a minute in Japanese, I might as well just use QWERTY. Japanese $1 bill having the guy who established the first bank isn’t that weird. We have Alexander Hamilton on our $10 and he established the first national bank. What’s the difference between National Bank and Bank? I don’t know. I’m unfortunately not an expert, but I do know that money is boring
