I should really look into learning how to write using the established logic syntax and symbols. I am a big believer that having access to a system of encoding gives our brain the ability to compress concepts into fast and easy bits, allowing for us to process things using those concepts with ease. Not having that encoding hinders my ability to thing with a more pure logic.

This video of yours (and your other ones as well are) is a good starting point to pursue a discipline for non-domain people. Thank you for your inputs. Can you share your thoughts on organising different abstract topics and discovering the connections between diverse areas? It would be helpful if you could focus on how we can collate our knowledge in Wikipedia form (as in a hyperlinked environment)? Several times I have found there is a repetition of themes among diverse areas, yet it is very difficult to lay them out succinctly.

I say that because I’ve read portions of logic by Isaac Watts in the future and have since picked up Vern Poythress’ book on logic as well but have thought it could be helpful to create a simple “course” for myself including exercises but don’t want to recreate the wheel if I don’t have to.

Great vid. logic is one of the most fantastic science's that you can study, doesn't have to be a philosopher or a mathematician, if you're just a human who think's you can benefit alot from it in your daily life. i studied logic at the islamic university (it's called hawzah in arabic) it's an essential subject if you wanna get good with philosophy (we study antology specifically). I encourage anyone who's good with philosophy and religions to read about the Persian islamic shia philosopher "Mullah sadra", it's hard but very deep. recommended books: bidayat al hikmah (the beggining of wisdom) & the principles of philosophy.

Awesome video. As a computer science major I’ve often thought of philosophy as pretty hand wavey, but my mind has been opened. The study of computation is deeply rooted in logic, and it’s been fascinating to come to realize the same is true of philosophy. Definitely wrote down some of the book recommendations! Your content is always appreciated. Love that you bring your faith into the mix too, even more to love about your stuff. If you had to recommend just one type of notebook in addition to a pocket notebook, what would it be? I want to start a commonplace book, either on quotes from books I’ve read, or potentially one more related to my career as a software developer. But your previous suggestion of a deep thinking book is also intriguing. I’m not opposed to having multiple, but want to take it one step at a time.
