Hi Where are you located? I’m in Wellington and need someone to show me the ropes on the Hutt River.

@@karlcrous2055 I'm in Auckland. Have a look at NZ TroutApp. Some great info on there for locations and access as well as local guides if you are keen.

I'm from NZ and as a kid I loved the hare and copper fly. I never tried them out as I always used lures rather than flies. As a kid I bought flies simply because I loved how they looked. I still have them all, still never been wet. My number 1 NZ fly the green beetle/ Manuka beetle. They look so cool!

Manuka beetles are great and hare and coppers even better. Tight lines

Only found your channel while looking for something new to tie while in lockdown. Love that you use squirrel instead of hare's mask. Also, thanks for the 101 pattern. Paul N. Tasmania

You'll have plenty of awesome water to test them on when you tie some too. Thanks for watching and glad you find it useful.

That squirrel is certainly even more buggy than hares fur and the pheasant tail is a great combo. Perhaps you should call it a squirrel and pheasant tail? I always enjoy your videos. Thanks from Gisborne.

Haha true I gues but I'd probably just call it a variation. I still prefer hare guard hairs to the squirrel but unless you have your own pelt it's hard to get the right stuff in the shops. Thanks for taking the time to comment, always much appreciated.
