The only 'eco-printing' I've done with indigo is with Japanese/fresh leaf indigo. You can pound the leaves of this plant onto fiber to make prints. The blue of the indigo used in vat reduction (this video) would not work for eco-printing because of the process needed to extract the blue color. However, you can make pastes from this type of indigo to do block printing or stenciling which is in the eco-printing family.
