Egads! I've been pulling my hair out trying to find a simple tutorial for this knot and I haven't found a single one that feels simple and intuitive. That is until now. One minute spent watching your tutorial and it's so beautifully simple. You sir, are my hero! I'm a bit giddy with glee at the moment. 👍

@@KnottingKnots - This American has learned a lot from funny talking foreigners with your silly, silly accents. Doesn't make sense, but it is what it is. Best wishes, my funny talker friend.

That was the easiest tutorial on the Spanish Bowline that I've ever seen. Very simple and user-friendly.

@@KnottingKnots Where's you been? I was worried! I made up a short length of 1/4" cotton four-ply, tarred and finished with a common whipping, so I could more easily follow along with your videos. It's only about 30" long, small enough to coil up and stow in the pocket so I have something to fiddle with when I'm waiting at the doctor's office, etc. Otherwise it lives on my desk with the computer, ready for when I watch a lil' Knotting Knots in the evening. I hope you're well.

@@threeriversforge1997 Good to hear that you have made up a piece of cordage just for learning knots. Sometimes just the simplest of things are so pleasing, to some it will look like a rubbish bit of cord, but the good thing about that is nobody will steal it!! When you make something, you remember lots of other things, like the warmth of the day or your dog snoring next to you.

Your videos are superb, very informative, but I wish you would mention what you would use the knot for e.g. tying a boat, lifting etc. Thank you.

In previous videos I did more in depth stuff, but got a lot of requests for short and sweet videos. It is planned to do more in depth videos in the future, where knots will be shown used in action! Thanks for taking the time to view and also make a comment, very much appreciated.

@@KnottingKnots Can you do a 'chat' video about your top five/ten knots to learn in boating? Having a small runabout boat, it does my head in to pick what knots to learn to be at least somewhat competent in knowing how to use those big bits of string...

@@ChippyOZ I could entitle it, "Lets Fight About Knots!" The problem with any top 5/10 video, is that people will scream and shout about why was xyz missing, or are you mad for including abc. I personally have the attitude that; you are the master of your own knots. Some of my best/favourite knots include slip knots, and many people will disapprove as they will say "they can accidentally be tripped." In my experience though, if a slip knot is tight and dressed smartly, it will not easily trip. When it comes to sailing knots, if you mention the Dutch or Cowboy Bowline, many sailors will shout, "not on my vessel!!!" Yet, when asked why, I do not hear a really convincing argument as to why it should not be used. Maybe do a search for "what knots do sea cadets learn", then see if they suit you.........................

If you make a cow hitch ,covert it into a bull hitch ,then convert it into a Spanish bowline ,easy to remember and so easy to do.
