it's easier to put the pad in gate mode and tap it quickly while turning the start knob until you can hear the transient then take it out of gate mode

What’s good! I just copped a 303 today and was wondering if yours ever got stuck recording a sample into the internal bank? I already tried initializing it but it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve been using banks C&D to work so far. Lmk if you got any advice. I’d appreciate the help!🙏🏾

Hey my brother. I need help. I don’t understand how to make a short pattern and then multiply it or why long samples you only hit once at the beginning, a loop your drumming over goes quiet when the the timer starts over. Or how do you play on top of patterns you’ve already made? By hitting record twice so your playing in rehearsal mode or is there another way. Thanks. You’ve been a God send on my musical journey. No exaggeration. I understand if you don’t have time to replying for a while.

To record over a pattern you have already made, hit record in pattern mode then select the same pattern that you have already recorded on...eg 'Pad 1'. Then when the metronome counts you in it will start 'overdubbing' new sounds over your previous pattern. You can keep doing this to layer up your beats and like you said, you can hit it again to rehearse. Make sure you have stopped the pattern first then go back and record again

@@spvidz thanks man I think I got it . I record long samples on the Roland trs6 without the kick and snare and then play those parts on top. Makes the work flow much easier and humanizes the beat, as the tr6s quantizes everything . Do you know how to find your pattern when looking on the SD card . I expected them to be listed the same as the samples but it’s a number chronology I don’t know how it arrives at. I’m gonna email Roland and tell them what a help you are to a product that can be difficult to navigate.

You can't grab the patterns off the SD card as sound files - you will have to manually record the beat out once its finished. I record mine into my laptop with Ableton. One of the drawbacks of the SP unfortunately...

@@spvidz omg. I messed up the setting on my laptop so I can no longer record. I don’t what I did . Expletive windows. Thank you sincerely. Your the only dude offering help on KZitem that seems like someone whose phone call you wouldn’t ignore. All these other cats act like they got the scoop on how to make it big in the scummiest industry on earth. No way would I ever want to try and be famous. If people naturally gravitated to what I’m doing that would be all right. But the masses never like what’s really awesome. In my humble opinion. But I’m no better just cause I got taste.
