Good video. Very detailed. I'm doing a DIY on my 2023 M3P. I just finished up the Xpel Stealth Satin PPF bulk wrap. 1st time doing it. Not professional, but I'm happy with it. I just bought Llumar bulk tint yesterday to try tinting. I love doing stuff I've never done before. If I mess it up, then I will have the shop tint them. Definitely worth the cash to enjoy trying myself. I battled most every piece of the PPF except for the hood lol.

Great job in explaining every detail plus giving helpful tips on the side. I might have missed it but I did not see you pulled the liner from the adhesive side. I saw the part where you pulled out the outer clear liner after you laid the tint in the inside glass. Am I missing something? Appreciate your help.

Hey! Thanks for watching. So this a method called reverse roll. It's tough to describe in words but basically, when you un-roll the film keep the liner on the roll so that as the film unrolls the liner is on the opposite side. It sounds very confusing until you see it done.
@resca5738
3 жыл бұрын
Ya...I was thinking the samething...liner should've been between the glass n the window...all my rolls where like that...anywho looks like that window sucks time consuming...like back in the day Saturn 4dr n 4dr Oldsmobile's back windows which u youngn's probably won't ever come across...everybody has their own technique nothing is etched in stone...looks like you where a "straight edge student" in tint school...straight A student...get it...

Reverse rolling is you pull liner off as you unroll so the sticky side face window. You pulled it off after you laid film so that means the sticky side is facing down.

Wait a minute 🤔 the way you have the product at 17:40 shows clear screen facing you. Which means when you rolled it up at 18:55 the clear film is on the “inside” of the roll-up. Which means the way you un-rolled it at 24:45 would have placed the clear film against the glass (aka that “inside layer” i mention). BUT the clear film was facing the floor when you peeled it off. Did you re-roll it off camera?
@TexasTintMasters

Nope. This is a method called Reverse Roll. Confusing when you read about it, better to watch a how to video on it.

Which way did u lay film with grain or against grain of film?
@TEBOZ
2 жыл бұрын
Sorry but I have never heard that term ''with or against grain of film'' but hope this helps answer your question. He is using a 60 inch roll of film because as he already stated , you can only shrink the factory edges of the roll to shrink he rolled off enough tint to run from the bottom of the window to the top of the window and used the full 60'' width to go from one side of the car to the other side of the car , giving him plenty of overhang to use his heat and pulling technique.

I had my Model 3 tinted with rear glass as single piece. I see scratch marks from the blade around the rear glass line. It’s not obvious but visible if I shine a light and look closely. Is this normal? Should I say something to the tint shop?

It’s not normal but if it’s not visible, I wouldn’t stress about it. Tesla is known to have very soft glass.
