How often have we heard from our mothers, sisters, and friends- I loved the trip but I did not feel safe "This solo trip was a bad idea. I will cancel it" What is the factor that is missing? Does the responsibility for safe travel lie on the women themselves? Why do the most empowered women choose to take a step back? If you thought yes, all the more reason to watch Prachi Thakur - a Diversity Trainer and Researcher talk about the "bubble hypothesis" and how Diversity Training at all levels of the Travel Industry is the first and the permanent step forward to ensuring safe travel for everyone. The next time, she feels, hopefully, women can travel with one baggage light- the fear of their safety. Diversity trainer and researcher within tourism and hospitality. She currently serves on the editorial board of two international academic journals - Tourism Management Perspectives and Asian Tourism Research - to help advance the research on tourism and solo female travelling. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
