you have to start constantly picking them up from the beginning, that way they get used to it and will want to be picked up when scared, so you missed your chance. But you can always try again in the future if you’re interested in adopting a new cat.

My cat is the same way , I can’t pick him up. Used to be able to pick him up and sit him in my lap, him purring all the while. After I had him fixed his demeanor changed completely. My second oldest son says the cat’s mad at me for destroying his family jewels 🤣🤣😂😂 He could be right 🥴

@binbin ribu It really is not, they're just like nails on humans. Cats hate the process because they're being held in place against their will and especially because their paws are being held, that's a huge nono for them. My mom's cats also hate the sound of the clipper and they react accordingly as in "wtf is that thing, keep that torture device away from me human" Their claws need to be maintained, in time they get too long and start cracking in places/get generally in bad condition and that's bound to become very uncomfortable for them The declawing thing however, that's a different story. In my country that's unheard of and it's considered to be more along the lines of abusing the cat.
