Thank you. I looked up the Husqvarna manual in Swedish(I am born and live here) but when it came to adjustments it said seek a professional. They are not what they Once were. The Sewing machines they made way back in the days always even came with grease on every single screw. Well done 🙂

Good video, super helpful. In the video you mention you thought about doing another video on how to tune chainsaws but I don’t see it. I see where you work on one but no video on tuning. I would be interested to see how it’s different from a 2-cycle string trimmer.

Great video, info, and explanation. Also that tidbit at the end confirmed what I was thinking....not the trimmer for my needs. Very reliable and would recommend...I've put 2 years and untold hours on mine and still runs like new but I just need more power. Is there a larger, budget trimmer you like? 4+acres What's your opinion on premixed fuels? (TruFuel, etc). Seems like a scam but I've used for 4 years with great, but expensive results. I was probably doing it wrong before... Thanks again, hope to hear back

Great to here you enjoyed the video. It sounds like you definitely should upgrade your trimmer. Straight shaft trimmers don’t lose power like in the bend of a curved shaft trimmer. So there’s a start. I would highly recommend the Stihl Fs 90r. It’s a straight shaft trimmer that is legendary for its reliability and power. It takes 2 stroke gas but it’s 4 stroke. A really cool design. I am getting off track. If you want a cheaper trimmer I would recommend a Stihl Fs 56r. I personally use that myself but I would get the Fs 90r any day for more serious work. (I have had a lot of experience with both trimmers) And for the fuel, Trufuel is extremely good and is much better long term if the trimmer doesn’t run a lot. So I would buy a good synthetic 2 stroke oil and mix up with pump gas. Regular gas is perfect. That at the end of the season put Trufuel gas in it. (Fill it up) And make sure your trimmer gets ran once a month during storage. Sorry for the long message. I have a lot to say about this stuff. Thanks -Jake

@@jakesgarage3300 great info, I'll take all I can get! I saw this reply too late (maybe). I bought a Ryobi 30cc 4 stroke straight shaft as I was trying to keep it under $300. Leaking oil right away! Checked screws around gasket & oil plug O-ring but still leaked. Returned to Home Depot with no problems. Hopefully just a lemon...haven't cranked the new one. Great performance from what I saw. A little heavy but no big deal. Fingers crossed and thanks again.

I'm working on a husqvarna 128LD And I spent an hour trying to tune it and all I got out of it. Is it will run when I'm squeezing the throttle, but as soon as I let go it dies, it will not idle and it's a brand new carburetor And I put a brand new air filter on it. And new fuel lines fuel filter And spark plug and it will not idle and now it doesn't want to start when it dies. What could that be?

It’s been a long time since I had my hands on that trimmer. But I believe that was full throttle. This is a little unit that’s a bit under powered so it doesn’t sound too beefy. It’s also possible I was only doing half throttle. Thanks for watching!

do you have to tune right out of the box or does it come tuned already, because i just used mine for the first time and it feels like it loses power after a few minutes of running
@jakesgarage3300

Hey Jeremy, New equipment is supposed to be pretuned but on a assembly line stuff doesn’t always get done to the highest standards. I would make sure you have ran about 2-3 tanks of gas through the engine before retuning to let the engine break in. Hopefully this helps. And remember watch out for those silly limiter caps.

@shawndubay4050

Check if your gas lines are in good condition. If they are in good condition the carburetor will need cleaned and rebuild. The diaphragm pumps might be stiff, have a pin hole or cracked. A carburetor rebuild kit installed correctly will most likely solve your fuel delivery problem. If it still doesn't run like it should afterwards a carburetor tune up/adjustment is needed. This video is the best guide to get it back to how it should be. Remember when turning a carburetor a small adjustment will make a big difference. I wish you the best of luck and a blessed life.

How often does a kill switch go bad?
@jakesgarage3300
3 жыл бұрын
In my experience I have never seen a kill switch break or go bad beyond easy repair. Usually it’s not really common we’re I live. But if the problem is isolated to just the switch then usually I find the contacts need cleaning. That can be done with electrical safe cleaners.
@seabass22
2 жыл бұрын
Kill switch is usually wired so it will stay stuck closed. It will start just won’t kill the engine. So if the switch won’t kill it, check connections.
