I just bought my trike today and rode it home, partly on the street. I live in a very hilly area and it scared the hell out of me, I need practice before I do that again! I had a brain aneurism and am epileptic so I had to sell my two wheeler, crashing sucks. I want to learn because the tricycle is the only independence I have left.

Thank you, without your videos I would have done alot worse than I did... still nearly crashed 3 times haha. But I remembered the video and after 3 loops around town I feel like I got used to it!! Also I feel like I'm getting such a great leg work out. It's a bit heavier than a regular bike so I'm excited for the workout and the independence I'll have since I can't drive.

Hello there :-) Having moved to an island which only has one main road, a 50km/hr speed limit, and is 2km x 6km in size, a car is a bit unnecessary. I'm 50 and my last bike had a glitter seat and ribbons on the handle bars. My etrike is arriving today. Lots of people here are getting segways, scooters and ebikes because you can pop them on the ferry and travel to the mainland/interisland no problem, as well as travel locally. Your videos are perfect for me. Thankyou!

Just need to know something: the only device that sorta has a resemblance of a tricycle, except for the plug-in charger is a mobile shopping cart (the ones that are for those with difficulty in walking). Is the turning radius slightly similar to riding a trike?

I have been practicing my trike at the park but im a bit worried about going through the streets. I dont feel confident enough to use the road. How do i judge that i will get through the narrow streets or past parked cars?
@sixthreezero

Our tricycles are designed to fit standard street roads to ensure that we can pass even in narrow roads. For parked cars,, I we might need to be cautious to ensure that we'll be able to pass them.

I had the same concerns you have, but motorists and people where I live were all very considerate. I started by riding on the pavement, this was a mistake, the road is the right place. I soon learned to give parked vehicles at least a door's width clearance. and always be aware of traffic behind and in front. Passing vehicle always gave me wide clearance, and treated me like any another vehicle. And where vehicles were parked on both sides of a road, oncoming vehicles would often wait for me to pass. As is common in the UK, I would raise my hand in thanks, and most often they would return the gesture in kind, and with a smile on their face. Just take things slowly at first. If motorists in your area are like they are in mine, you should gain confidence very quickly. For an oldie like me the trike was the perfect option. I no longer needed a car for work, and got fed up waiting at bus stops.

Hi! Troubleshooting-what to do if you’re riding a trike and turning, and it starts to tip. What’s the best way to counter this? Thanks!😊 Love your videos!
@sixthreezero

Good question! You may want to counter balance. Try to move your body weight to the other side to counter weigh the bike from tipping. Hope this helps!

@@sixthreezero I have started to do this allot as I live in Knoxville, Tennessee and there is nothing but hills, mountains and sharp turns. Even the roads have high shoulders to compensate for the rains we get, so even bike lanes can be difficult. I lean outwards from my turn as needed and that depends on my speed and how uneven the road is when there is no sidewalk. This is somewhat shown in other videos.

First,do not panic,gradually slow down, remain steady, trike will naturally level off.

Yes good question. The video says keep your body centred while turning but as a beginner I feel more confident leaning a bit towards the opposite side of the turn direction. Is this ok or should I really stay “centred”?
@sixthreezero

That's okay, John as long as you're more comfortable with it. How long have you been riding?

I always rode a regular bike. Yesterday I tried my first tricycle and found the moment I turned a bit it goes into a sharp turn. How can I avoid this?
@sixthreezero
2 жыл бұрын
Tricycles take some getting used to. Try and lean away from the turn, so if you are turning left, leaning your body to the right to counteract the weight of the tricycle going left. It should help slow down the turn.
@Chapooski

The natural instict of leaning out opposite of the turn as mentioned at 1:20 only applies to those riders who are candidates for a Darwin Award.
