Thanks very much. Solved our issue on a 41°c Sunday without having to call a tech. I used an old vacuum to clear the blockage in the connection on the drip tray side.

Excellent clear instructions. Great experienced technician. My condensate line drains out under the roof flashing on the 2nd floor. Obviously, not feasible to use a vacuum cleaner outside on the roof. Much easier to blow the crap out using the hose as shown. Simples!

Thank you! My drainage hose had a retaining clip held in with a screw. After removing the screw the hose popped right off and it was clogged with disgusting black mould. Used a bottle cleaner and disinfectant and now its draining properly and no more dripping on the floor.

Thanks for the visual demo. Had a roommate's room catching water. You probably saved me breaking the plastic minding the top clips. Mine were 4 that you pull toward you on the bracket piece to release, this was close to the ceiling so I had to use a mirror to see them. I had salvaged a long thin hose from the inside of a steam cleaner recently so I was able to feed it deep into the outflow pipe and palm roll it fast to knock any obstructions. The first time I reconnected the outflow tube to the mating piece I didn't have it on completely, so I took some drip from the vinegar I poured into the drip pan, second time looked good, parts cleaned up, reassembled. We saw more outflow from the pipe outside, I'll check back with the man in a few days.

@@aircaresolutionshongkong Sadly no, I cleaned out the drain pipe and tray but the condensation is happening from the rear end of the evaporator and falling down the wall. No idea what causes that 🤔 Thanks for caring about a random stranger on the internet, you're good people. 🥹

Hi, really clear video - thanks! I have an FTXA20A2V1BW Daikin AC unit which has just stopped working properly. There's no water coming out of the unit. There is a micro blue condensate pump connected as the condensate needs to go above the indoor unit. I have checked the pump and it doesn't seem to operate (no pumping activity heard) although a green arrow is lit up on the unit. When removing the inlet pipe, there is no water, but when removing the outlet pipe there is water there. When I remove the multpin connector the pump seems to start. When I reconnect, it stops again. Can you suggest any troubleshooting steps?

Hello. I have a leaking Daikin FTXA50A2V1BW. Company who installed it connected drain pipe to the same drain where my bath goes. And they added a small trap before that. However now i read manual for this model and it clearly says “no traps!”. It has been working fine until bigger heat wave comes and it starts dripping a lot.

If there were no issues for quite some time, it's not really the trap that is causing the problem (thought it is most certainly a component of the problem) ... it's still algae development before the condensate reaches the trap. Depending upon the model of AC, and AFTER you've resolved the blockage, you can likely simply implement self administered preventative maintenance to eradicate algae development in the drainage line...simply apply a couple of Pan Treat Tablets on a regular basis (fortnightly would be ideal) to the drainage pan of the AC and that should resolve the frequency (or eradicate altogether) of the blockages
@Froggability

Sometimes algae develop IN the trap, if it's just a bath a wouldn't worry you can remove the trap

Can I do this if I am unsure where the condensate terminates or drains? We had issues with a leak after 2 years of no issues. Can’t seem to find the end anywhere outside or inside. I assume it probably goes to a drain..

Condensate lines are typically attached to greywater plumbing piping - i.e.: connected to the same plumbing as the shower/bath/sink wastewater (not sewage pipes)

On one occasion when using lung pressure to clear a blockage (lung pressure not our SOP...this video is just to demonstrate that it's usually easy enough to do with what one already has on hand...we usually use high pressure water to clear drainage lines) on a 'fly-by' visit just to help a client out...my colleague was in another room doing the same (he was in another room) and was supposed to be temporarily blocking the drainage line of the other AC on a SHARED drainage line...he blew just as I put my mouth on the hose...that's the only time I've ever had to Hawk Tuah! 😂

The point of the video is to demonstrate how easy it can often be to unblock a drainage line with just a screwdriver and a short length of hose :o) It can often take several days for people to be able to get a booking for a HVAC technician in Hong Kong...in the midst of hot humid summers in Hong Kong, it can be unbearable without an AC for a few days. So the objective of this clip is to illustrate that one doesn't necessarily need a HVAC technician to simply unblock a drainage line. Hong Kong is one of the top 3 'most vertical cities in the world' ----> the vast majority of the population live in high-rise apartment buildings...so it's exceptionally rare to be able to access the drainage line from outside (unless one wishes to spend several thousand Hong Kong dollars on installing scaffolding just to unblock a drainage line.

Why are you wearing a mask, but not wearing a mask?
@aircaresolutionshongkong
Жыл бұрын
We're respectful of our clients. Whilst there's no longer any mandatory obligation to wear masks in Hong Kong, many people are still choosing to do so as COVID-19 is still around. Some clients can have a variety of reasons for being extra cautious - such as having elderly parents at home, or being pregnant, or having a newborn. As Standard Operating Procedure our personnel all wear masks when they arrive at an appointment, and will only remove them if the client expressly advises that it's not necessary. Our personnel is 'wearing a mask but not wearing a mask' as the client had advised him that he didn't need to wear one, and it was simply easier to pull it down than to completely remove it. As we also mentioned in the video description above - this clip was an impromptu one (the client is the one that's holding the phone camera actually) so it was just a 'spur of the moment' decision to film it

As you can see from the description of the video, this wasn't originally intended to be posted on KZitem. The 'cameraman' was a client who simply wanted to have a recording of the process so that he could replicate it next time he had a blocked drainage line.
