According to RED, the power state (on/off) of camera and the powered device does not matter. Just make sure to connect the power source (batteries and/or d-tap) prior to connecting SDI. To me this makes sense… it’s a grounding issue and ground is established when battery or batteries are attached.

Excellent video from CVP, as always. One thing to note, even though it isn't advertised much, the SmallHD 702 Touch also has camera control capabilities like the Cine 7 and the Indie 7. It sits between the two in price and specs. (The same control kit works with all three.)

If you shoot fight scenes what build would you recommend? Needs to be lightweight, and easy to grip from awkward angles. Small monitor ect. Own a movi pro as well.

My dream komodo rig would be komodo with the outrigger handle and the wooden camera cage rig or the bright tangerine cage rig with the kippertie revolva with the tribe7 blackwing7 or the tokina vista prime lens on it and the teradek rt fiz system and the bright tangerine misfit kick matte box and a smallhd 503 or 703 or the cine 7 and at the back a bp battery and the wooden camera b box and the wooden camera battery swing with the battery plate and the c box and the vaxis storm 3000 pass through version or the teradek bolt 4k on rods because then i can can go from an minimal rig to a full on cine rig very easily. yeah thats a big dream for a 13 year old but, dream until u achive it. if u read this i would be very happy and if u have any suggestions or thoughts let me know❤

Thank you a lot! So, I am from Denmark and did'n't understand everything,- the sound section: what would I need to get real good sound on the Komodo, using a boom mike directly connected to the camera? Would a Wooden XLR box, not do the job? (using battery in the mike)

@@CVPTV i know that it's sdi in general and not red specific but i've heard tons of issues with komods and have never seen a dp fumble on the sdi ports before swapping a battery on an alexa 🤷♂️

These are best practices, of course some people aren’t going to follow them, especially if it’s a rental camera. The reason we included this is because the KOMODOs 12-G SDI is more susceptible to issues in comparison to better shielded ports like the ones on Alexa and even the V-RAPTOR now. Jake

Miss-information on the Track-E, I haven't found a bracket option for this - only for the Sync-E (which is what you show in the video)
@CVPTV
Жыл бұрын
I wasn't specific about what the bracket was for, but it's quite obvious that it's for mounting the Sync E to your camera and then you have the Track E of camera. Would need to check if the bracket fits the Track aswell. Jake
@benward75
Жыл бұрын
@@CVPTV Track-E doesn’t fit in the same bracket unfortunately. I use one just clipped on to the shade of my Ninja V. Allows me to run a camera mic to the track-e for 32bit audio, then out to the ninja. Works great, but would be nicer to have a bracket to mount onto a camera cage. Great series on the Komodo btw. Thanks for your excellent informative videos!
