Pin frogs have been used as a floral mechanic for years and date back to 14th century Japan (called a Kenzan in that culture)! They were popularized in the US during the 40’s and 50’s. The “frog” is a device used to help hold flowers in place. They are made of different materials and are typically very eco-friendly because they can be cleaned and re-used! See how easy they are to use in creating striking floral arrangements! Then, the pour for this episode was gifted to me by a great friend! It’s called New Southern Revival Sorghum Whiskey from the High Wire Distilling Company in Charleston, SC. The spirit is completely made from 100% sorghum syrup and while you would expect it to be quite sweet, it’s not overly so! The husband and wife owners have a background in backing so their approach is very much culinary-focused! I hope you’ll enjoy this episode!
