There's also the need to factor in the wind and temperature if its cold as in the winter, so you need to know your yardages. Super film, full of sound advice.

Enjoy your work and appreciate the time you spend helping us to improve scores. Help me understand your club distance card. The horizontal axis represents the various clubs? The vertical axis represents the % of swing in 10% intervals? That being said, I think I can accurately measure 30%, 60%, and 90% because my proficiency just doesn't allow for more granularity in % of effort. I recall a Dave Pelz lesson where he suggested using a clock face and measuring backswing distance starting from address to 4 or 3 or 2 o'clock. As soon as this squirrely LAS weather lightens up, I'll try it on our practice ranges here in Summerlin.

Enjoyed the video. I live in Va Beach VA. My Cousin who we are close to and visit regularly lived on the Lexinton Course at Revere. I had morning coffee viewing that green on 10 often. Thanx for the info and the view. Dave R

Thanks for highlighting the thought process for determining the shot distance as opposed to the flag distance. All too often we simply look at the distance to the flag and overlook the fact that we need more data to hit the correct shot.

Great strategy tips! Thanks Mr One Putt! BTW, i use an app to measure strokes, distance etc. Those apps do not update pin locations. Could be different distance every day. So i use a rangefinder. Especially for short game. 😊

Great videos, but I can't figure out how to understand the slope readings. On my rangefinder it shows angle, distance and a second measurement next to a triangle. The instructions that came with it do not tell you what they mean. Obviously it was built in China and the instructions are in English but written by a Chinese person, so the description is not understandable. Can you provide a video of the rangefinders screen with an explanation of what they look like and how to interpret?

Feels like a bait and switch! The image had a wrap around on the face… and nothing like that was discussed in the video. While I agree that useful advice was provided in the video… the image selected for the video is misleading!

"Dont hold up the game" Rather than take the time 6-7 different measurements and 3-4 calculations surely its better to just pick out your target first then measure it once (or maybe just 1 more time for the distance from there to any hazard thats in the worrying line of fire. Schaun.
