Good morning. An old boat builder taught me to use the handsaw. He told me to loosen my grip and let the saw do the cutting, push it, do not grip it. that saw knows more about cutting than your hand does. Just push it and draw it back. listen to the saw, it will sing when you are doing it right.

Great tip! What's up trimbaker good to hear from you again. The saw knows more about cutting than you do😂.I like that. I agree you can hear when the saw is being used effectively. My blade got caught up in my kerf a few time's, well practice makes perfect. Thanks for commenting.

So tell why does the saw get stuck when cutting to a certain point

My demonstration was not the perfect example. I got hung up a few times. However your saw should glide back and forth through your saw kerf. It shouldn't require much effort when held properly. You can hear when it's cutting properly, the sound is uninterrupted. Let the saw do the work don't force it. Also in my video I had my waste end of my wood unsupported so it would not bind my saw blade. Thanks for commenting.

instead of pulling back ease up in the amount of force you are putting in in the front stroke. you have good sawing rhythm though. it should sound a heavier on the push stroke and very light on the return

Thanks for the advice. I do admit I need a little more practice to achieve a perfect rhythm. Thanks for commenting.

Best if you clap down the 2x4 and don't have it on the edge of the work table. It can rid off the table😊
