I am a homeowner with a day job who does not do anything construction related for a living. That being said I am working on framing out my basement and Bought this kzitem.infoUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt gun. I have done a few walls already, have probably shot a couple hundred nails through this thing and have yet to have a misfire. It works awesome, good depth on every nail if you have your compressor set right. My literal only complaint is that it is a bit heavy and my arm can get a little tired especially whrn I am nailing at odd angles. That being said I am super happy with it and would buy it again. Hoping the old girl allows me to get my whole basement finished out!

The nail gun nails are flat and lie parallel to the gun body. To also reduce the risk of the nail shooting out of the side, the gun should be held at 90 degrees to the piece and not parallel when shooting. Small tip 👍

Nice video. I would have added, the nail adds very little to the strength of the joint, it is just to hold the joint until the glue dries.

2:13 and that's how you get a nail in your finger or your hand. I know you were probably not even close to the trigger. But seeing this is for nailgun novices it would have been wise to tell them never to do that with a pressurised nailgun. ESPECIALLY not if you have a jam. Thanks for the video though.

Best way not to get a nail in your hand is to never point it in the direction of your hand (Which you do pretty much every time you use it in the video). If you hit a soft or rotten spot in the wood, it can go straight through and come out the other side. I noticed you did move your fingers up a bit when you shot the nail, but the differences in hardness in the wood can redirect the nail in any direction. Sure the risk is pretty low, but why bother risking it? Also, gluing particle board is pretty much useless. The glue will hold on to a bit of the fibers, but since that stuff breaks so easily, it adds no strength.

There's also a lot to be said for quickly putting together pieces that don't require the precision of dovetails. In the real world, time is money, and not all construction requires the same methods.
