Thanks for the explanation. I had a Viking, for 5 years, and I never used the needle threader because I couldn’t figure it out. Then I bought a Janome 1600 and kept it in the box because it seemed to hard to use. Thank you for your videos. You made it much easier to get it out of the box. I swear I would listen to maybe 5 words and then pause… and breathe. I can’t be the only one. It’s hard to change machines but this one seems fantastic. Thanks again. The threader is easier to understand if you look to the side vs straight on. 😹

I like how you've shown you can let go of the device once the hook is thought eye of the needle. I've always held the threader in place with one hand then struggled to guide the tread against the needle with the other. Using both hands to guide the tread has made a world of difference.

Yep, I only realized I could do that after fiddling with it for quite some time. Two hands are better than one!

Thank you Leah for showing how to use the needle threader. I have another machine which has a needle threader it is so much easier. All in one press down on the side of the machine. I have not used my Janome threader as I always found it difficult, however I will give it a try next time I use it.

You are so welcome! I had fun learning how to use it. I've never used this device either and found it did take some practice, but I'm glad I mastered it in the end.

Thank you Leah I must say I have never used the needle threader because I could not get it to work. I am very happy that I can now do this. A question for you is there a hopping foot for this machine there are times when I would like to use one due to heavy seams. ❤️❤️❤️

We have a walking foot which you can find here leahday.com/products/walking-foot-for-janome-1600 There are a few other feet that can help with heavy seams so check Janome's website and if you want me to order one for you just let me know!

Thank you Leah, this was great. Is the 1600 have a built in stich regulator? Oh and by the way it was great to watch you at the Grace Company Fall Festival!

Great question! No, the 1600 doesn't have a built in stitch regulator. I have attached a Sure Stitch Regulator to the machine to regulate the stitches when it's on a frame - leahday.com/products/grace-sure-stitch-regulator

Hello- I have the Husqvarna version of this machine (Megaquilter 1200) The needle threader is exactly the same. The tiny hook became bent and as you mentioned it is shot now (tried to bend it back into place and it snapped off). I ordered a replacement needle threader, but I’m having a hard time removing the old one. Do you have any experience replacing this part? Thank you!

I answered my own question- it simply snaps off! Thanks so much
