You should really clearly show where every single wire is feeding in to the relay so one can see very clearly where each wire is at. For instance the wire the you use as switch, in and out, where is the other end of it? On the end you are showing seem to be going to positive. What about that wire next to it. What is that wire and where is that going, positive to...? And is everything hooked up to 12 volts DC or? where is the power coming from? Are you feeding AC and output DC and trigger is how many volts? Are there three different voltage feeding?

Where can I go to find any relay I need? I remember a site for MOSFETS that had a whole bunch of any type of MOSFET I needed.. I need a relay instead. I need to use a low current momentary button switch to control up to 40 Amps or 250 Watts. I would like to use 7.2 or higher voltage to turn the load on & off. Awesome demonstration, thanks for the video. (+1 : 73)

um the video was helpful, but uh, I guess you should, um, rehearse your um, script before you um, record the video. Seriously though, try a quick run through and rehearsal of the lines, or just in general what you want to say and how you want to say it. You could have made that video half the length it was. You seem to understand what you're working with, but the constant "um" and "I guess" really breaks attention and makes it hard to concentrate on what you're trying to show us. that being said, thanks for the video, it did help be understand relays.

Great video. Question. I'm replacing my ebike motor pcb. My original pcb has 5V GND SP H1 H2 and H3 components that's I'm familiar with and know how to connect. My replacement pcb has these connections PLUS a "K" (relay?) and "-" beside it. What is relay used for? Does K mean relay? And, since "K" is not a component on my original pcb does that mean this pcb will not work unless connected to some type relay? Tried looking online/Google. No luck. Need some hell. Hope u can. /bklyn 👑

Maybe I didn't follow well enough, but would this circuit (or a variation of it) allow me to use a push button momentary switch to begin running a machine of mine that would shut itself off and not start up again in the event of a power failure? So in other words, N.O. push button closes a N.O. relay and then, as long as there's power running to it, the relay stays closed.

What I wanna know is will I have any problems using a arduino uno. Also the car uses a 7.2v battery the motor is slightly larger than most remote controlled cars, so I wanna know is will there be any problem with the method I’m going to use with the arduino uno & the motor shield

Hi, love your video. I have an espresso machine in which doesn’t stay on. When I push the power button at times it will stay on 2-4 seconds, then it shuts off, though I hear a clicking sound when it turns off. I’m assuming that the relay is defective because the machine won’t stay on.. coukd it be something else besides the relay ?
@MartinPaoloni
4 жыл бұрын
The relay is probably okay, since it clicks and turns on and off the machine successfully. If the electronics are cutting the power from the relay, it's probably because some sensor is reporting incorrect values. Check for faulty temperature, flow, or liquid level sensors.

if you want to turn on a very big machine that needs 1000 volts and 350 amps to work correctly that amount of current would fry your tiny switch and all the wiring to it. so what you do is put a relay next to the machine with big fat cables that are capable of handling your current safely and then you run little 12 volt dc cables all the way to your desk with a tiny button switch. now you can safely send 12V dc to turn the relay on and the relay will switch the big current safely for you.

+KZitem Tv No... High power switching is only one application. They are also used on very small pcb's to isolate circuits from each other and you can also use a very small latching relay to turn something on permanently from a momentary push button switch. They even make tiny surface mount relays that measure only a few mm for use in high frequency test equipment.

@MostElectronics

Yes you should be able to. The power of the 450VAC with less than 1 amp would at most do 450 Watts. The coil says it can do at peak 240V at 7A which is over 1000Watts.

IF the work of relay is to make and break the contact............then why do we use a relay....we can also just use a switch.........whats the use of relay ...plzz help ?
@PCGamerUnion
10 жыл бұрын
The first relays were used in long distance telegraph circuits as amplifiers: they repeated the signal coming in from one circuit and re-transmitted it on another circuit. Relays were used extensively in telephone exchanges and early computers to perform logical operations.
@PTAlisPT
10 жыл бұрын
With a relay you can use a low current circuit to make and break the contact of a high current circuit (like 240V AC appliance). You can use a relay to turn on and off a light bulb with a raspberry pi or an microprocessor without frying the sensitive rasp or mp.

***** I tell you the simple way, IT can switch on large load, thats the main purpose of it, example if you have a circuit basically a circuit with sensor that when you wave your hand a led will light up, it drives 6volts voltage source, now you want to connect it to a lamp which has 220v 2 amp rating, and if you wave your hand instead of led the Lamp will light up, but how would you connect it to a 6volt source circuit? thats where the relay plays the part you used the relay as switch, to connect the lamp to a 220v socket, and the circuit sensor is still 6volts source, so when you wave your hand a signal of voltage will flow to the relay then it will automatically light up the lamp, in other words, its an automatic switch drivin by electromagnetic pulse inside,. your question is why use relay? the answer is its an automatic switch, it can handle bigger loads. thats it. hope you understand.
