Yup, don't actually have a problem when a company sponsors videos like this - you get the info' and while you are made aware that the company makes the product, obviously, there is no obligation to purchase it and you are now informed enough to look at, and compare the opposition's products to it and make your own call. With the pipe splice, slip the rubbers over the smaller diameter pipe first, then you can move it back and over the larger diameter - makes it MUCH easier than trying to wrangle them into place the other way round. Good point about the wiring and other services - pays to have a wander around, checking out any evident connections, or other indications, at the road and building(s).

I LOVE my Stabila LAR350. Besides grades, levels, and perpendiculars, I frequently use my on its side as super long distance line laser for precise positioning line posts up to about a half mile away. These things are not cheap, but once you use one and see how much faster you can work and achieve precision, you never want to go back to working without one.

The difference between the DeWalt and Topcon is the DeWalt is a tool. The topcon is a precision instrument. I compared another tool brand laser with a topcon and learned several things. What is normal for a Bosch, DeWalt and others is out of whack with Topcon. Also Topcon can be serviced, realigned, fixed etc. I would not pour a foundation with one of these... SRW wall ...sure. Had several Topcons, sold them after a decade of problem free use only to upgrade to a dual slope Topcon. My 2¢

Thanks for doing this video. I made a few videos and harder than it looks. I took the time to make one for a food chopper and most people were thankful as at the time only one out there and then I had people negative comments on my gut and style. I did not bother to respond as at my age I have seen every kind of jerk there is I think. Your genuine and I tend to trust people who can laugh at themselves. I do know one thing for certain. You will never find me in 7 degree weather lol. We seldom use a rotary laser but do have the Dewalt DW089LG and its impressive. Thanks again.

Don't use the googles and watch into the laser directly, please! This laser visibility googles are there to improve visibility and not to protect the eyes like laser safety glasses! Good luck when looking around for a repair or calibration service for such items. Just throw it away! As an influencer, you should provide authentic information and you should provide the whole truth. But you seem to be a little bit biased by the sponsorship. There is always a reason why other brands charge good money for such instruments. But the rest of your video is very interesting and entertaining, thanks.

Not tried the dewalt yet as cant afford more lazers but they been a pain the arse . all the ones ive had .i started with the cowly sight level over thirty years ago and alway go checking the lazers and found some lazers to be well out . Ive only got 10 to 20 big projects to go before i retire so no point me spending a fortune on one just to check it out .

Um... some good info I spose, but the receiver doesn't interact with anything, it receives the light from the laser, and generally, will only react to the specific wavelength of the laser it was designed to work with. I think the term you were looking for was "line of sight" too... very good tip for beginners you made, used to laugh our asses off back in the days of the infra red dumpies, would take 'ken ages for apprentices and ta's to work out why they weren't getting a read.

I just bought the DCE089DG. I have no issues with checking if something is level. But it you want to set grade it's a piece of garbage. Setting grade is 55% of the use of this tool. Firstly, every button on this device beeps when you press it except the grade button. You have zero idea if the machine has registered your press. The only way you can guarantee what grade the machine is set to is by measuring it manually, which negates the whole point of buying one of these. Finally, the instruction manual says that every press of the grade button alters the grade by 0.1 degree which is 1.6mm over 10m. But that's not what 0.1 degree over 10m is. The correct figure is 1.75mm. Unless I've completely misunderstood the functionality of this tool my appraisal of it is that it's worth $400-500 max.

how does tool connect actually know the location of the laser.. i dare say its all bluetooth based, which is worthless because you only know the location of the laser when youre within 30ft of it and the bluetooth picks it up.. at that point youve already found it.. i guess if you suspect someone of stealing it you can go check their houses from their yard without entering.. but will it even work if theres no battery in the laser? i use Tile bluetooth trackers just to find my wallet and keys when they end up under the truck seat, the folds of the couch, in plain sight 2ft from your face but you cant see it.. but when my wallet got lost/stolen it couldnt find it for me, just tell me the last place i had it

Question, I’ve used a few. Both the 2k ones and the cheap ones. I’ve been thinking about switching to dewalt due to fact that those are my other power tools. And batteries would be readily available. The question is, does it have the feature that if it’s moved via vibratory compaction, somebody bumps into it, or soft ground etc will it shut down or beap ? I’ve done jobs where we were grading and my compactor has thrown it off. I swore I would never own one without that. I don’t like doing things twice. Thanks in advance if somebody could answer me!
