You wouldn’t think people would need an instructional video on something so simple. But after my first time using a corded electric mower, I was thinking maybe I had thrown my money away on something that was not going to be very workable. It’s not as easy as dealing with a vacuum cleaner cord, after all. So, I’m glad you made this video. I’m going to try this technique out next time.

The solution is to hold the electric cable as high as possible. When the cable is attached to the cable clip, you tend to step on the cable frequently. Thanks for the great tip.

Hi, I haven't seen any comparisons on life expectancy of electric mowers. I've had this 4 or 5 years and it is still doing a great job. I have an 18", 6.5 Amp Black and Decker mower that is around 12 years old and the motor still runs fine despite the plastic cooling fan missing most of its blades. I repaired the wheel axles several times, but it seems I can't anymore, so I bought a new 18", 10 Amp Lawnmaster mower, but it seems to be poorly built and I'm having some problems operating it. Unfortunately, it seems like they don't build them like they use to.

Hi, just personal preference. I don't like getting gas cans filled and carrying them in the car. Electric eliminates replacing spark plugs, air and gas filters and oil. Just plug it in and it is ready. No hard starts or winterizing the unit for the off season. I originally picked up the electric so my sons could help with the lawn. I didn't want to worry about gas and pull starting. We have more home improvement tips on our weekly podcast castbox.fm/u/6389499.

Worst polluting motors create worse fumes which are purposely vented toward you, high decibels necessitate more safety gear or mask approaching sounds, heat, shoulder strain from weight and or pull start which also makes ia single handle height adjustment impossible and they cost $100 less used.

Hi, the key thing you are looking for in an extension cord is the rated amps. The electric lawnmower in this video is a 12 amp mower. So I am looking for an outdoor-rated, grounded extension cord that is rated at or above the rating of my mower. I am using a cord rated at 13 amps. It is less expensive and lighter than a 15 amp cord. You never want to use a cord rated less than your tool. It is bad for the tool and the cord. You will shorten the life of both.

Just trying to decide between a corded vs cordless(first ever lawn mower), I was afraid of having to fight with the cord, but I didn't like batteries because they eventually will die out and need to be replaced and is not the greatest environmentally speaking even if you recycle them properly. And the battery anxiety as well as being quite a bit more expensive... After watching your video I think I can comfortably go with a corded one and not having to worry about fighting with the cords. For me, dealing with the cord position slows me down. I suggest keeping the cord between the legs. Look at 00:43. The cord is on the outside of his right leg. Keep it on the inside of the leg! It won't be in the way, and you won't trip. Also, you won't have to move the cord around on the uncut portion of your grass
