How does the app manage 2 sets of dual channel units? (Front, Rear, Right and Left sides of the car)?

Can you use that Dash Crab mount when using the BlackVue in a vehicle? I am just worried that the mount that came with the unit will fall off. Here in Las Vegas USA the temperature fluctuates greatly, and I think the sticky mount will fail after awhile. I have not installed my unit as of yet, I am in-between my last camera (Garmin GDR35D) and I am using my original ChinaVision since my Garmin USB power port broke. I need to watch your install video again to make sure I can do it correctly. I have a 2001 Tacoma Xtracab PreRunner. I know the back camera will not use-up that much of the wire and just have to hide it like you explain in the video. Also, do you think a Windows Phone app will ever be put out? Thank you for your videos, very helpful indeed.

Thank you for the video! just installed my new Blackvue DR650 2ch in my new car and the cameras just work awesome and the quality it's just amazing, just need to buy a external battery pack for parking mode 👍

+ItaloDiscoFreak77 Hi, Do a search for a product called Power Magic pro, you can set it for different timings for using in parking mode etc, For example it uses your car battery up until the battery level gets to 12v or 11.8v and then turns the unit off, OR 6 hours 12 hour and so on and then turns the unit off, its all programmed through dip switches and very simple to set up requires permanent batt power, and accessory power (ignition on)

Wifi features seem good but what about the range? If my car is parked in my office, I don't think I can view the recorded video from my cellphone at home right ? I am little confused. Cause from the video, you said you can view your videos while you are not there. But how close are you ?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I've recently bought a DR600, the WiFi transfer is terrible, on video playback it will not stream like in your example. It takes several minutes to watch a few seconds of video clip. How comes yours is so quick? I'm using the latest 1.003 firmware, but I also had the same issue with 1.002 which was installed when I bought it. Any thoughts on how to speed up the WiFi ?

So to clarify on what you said about Wi-Fi access. Do you have to be connected to a modem over Wi-Fi to be able to control or access the videos? Can I be in a rural area where there is no public Wi-Fi and still be able to connect the the cam to my phone and be able to access the video?

Hello there, You can be anywhere in the world for the WiFi connection. Internet is not needed as your phone and dashcam will be speaking to each other via WiFi.

Thank you for all the intersting review and how-to videos. I'm really interested in buying the BlackVue DR650GW-2CH, which is in my opinion the best available. But I have only one question, and I can't find an answer in any of the videos on youtube. If you have an event which you would like to save, like for example you see an accident in front of you, but your car is not involved, is there a button available to save the event. Or do you really need to have the G-sensor activated?
@blackboxmycar
9 жыл бұрын
InTerBrew The g-sensor activates the special video file and it gets recorded on to the SD card. You can also copy and paste a video from your WIFI app to your phone.

+BlackboxMyCar how fast does the WiFi transfer a 5 minute front video ?
@bearstearn3
8 жыл бұрын
+InTerBrew no, there is no event saving button like some other models. even if the g sensor was set to the most sensitive setting, it wouldnt matter since your car was not involved in the accident to trigger the event mode recording. the best way to ensure you save the clip and doesnt get over written is either save the specific file to your phone through the app or take out the micro sd card out of the device

I have a few questions. 1. The live view is shown with very low fps on the phone app. I presume the actual video recorded on microsd is at the specified frame rate (30fps/60fps), correct? 2. how many cables do I need to run? one or two? I assume one between the rear camera and the front camera, and one for power. Or are they incorporated? 3. Can this product be configured to work as an automatic backing-up parking camera? 4. Do you have to manually transfer the files from the microsd to the phoen or computer using a microsd reader or is there a copy function in the app? Better yet, is there a sync option on the phone app? That is, it automatically transfer full video files to the phone device? 5. How easy is it to remove and remount? I want to store this unit in my glove box while I'm away, for two reasons. It's an expensive item and I'm afraid my car will get broken into if thieves see it. Also, to limit exposre to the sun. 6. How good is the microphone? is there noise reduction? ps. BTW, you are using the phrase "Fair enough" incorrectly. You explained that you couldn't show the rear view camera because it's not hooked up, and then you said, "Fair enough". Such a phrase is meant only to acknowledge a rebuttal. So unless you are actually arguing with another person or persons, it's not appropriate to use as an expression to validate your own thoughts.

Thank you for the quick reply. Maybe something to add (in a comment or whatever) in future videos to alert people to check before installing? That way if there 'might' be an issue , they can get the work done at the dealership and avoid any potential warranty issues.

Question... Do you actually need Wi-Fi to view a video on your phone or will the app connect to the camera in your car without Wi-Fi..... I am a truck driver.....hypothetically speaking, if I were pulled over for running a red light and I believed that I did not run the red light and wanted to show the officer video of me crossing through the traffic signal, would I be able to do this using the app while the officer watched ? whould it work through my mobile 4G network ? The reason I use dash-cams with built-in video screens is for playback if needed. I really like this model though and am interested in it. Thanks

Grant VD Yup, you can simply connect your phone to your dashcam and show the officer the video. We have so many stories of how our customers were able to prove that they weren't speeding to not running over someone that was trying to scam our customer.

Hi Alex. I just purchased the DR650 2ch. It keeps restarting itself when i am trying to set up the app and test it out before installing it in the car. Would the problem be that the home electric current is different then the car's? And that is why the cam is restarting itself?
@bearstearn3

+xxlov3ubabexx does it restart itself after you make changes for the "firmware." through the blackvue app? if so, that is normal. unfortunately the blackvue camera cannot change its setting internally without rebooting itself

I have used the BlackVue DR650GW-2CH for almost a year now. Awesome system, great video. InTerBrew, when looking at the video log, press and hold the file you want to save, a menu will pop up asking if you want to save the file, it will then save it to your local device. My question, I wanted to put a WiFi Router to extend the distance, the router detects the Blackvue unit, however, it will not let you connect through the router to the Blackvue. Does anyone know if it has a proprietary signal and how to connect remotely?

It depends on the dashcam model that you have: Non-CLOUD dash cams, such as DR590X/DR590W: to connect to the dash cam and access the footage on the phone, the phone needs to be within the WIFI range (the phone will connect to the dash cam via WIFI) CLOUD-ready dash cams, such as DR900S/DR750S: to connect the dash cam to the cloud (providing the dash cam is a Cloud-ready) Yes you would have to leave phone in car because dash cam needs to connect to the Cloud through the mobile internet. LTE-enabled dash cams, such as DR900X/DR750S with CM100 LTE or DR750-2CH LTE: You do not need to leave the phone in the car because the built-in LTE module will provide the dash cam with an internet connection to connect to the cloud server.
