UX wise the tool is very confusing. But I actually jumped right through it because it is awesome. There are a lot of great features baked in but then again options are buried on dropdowns. Choosing color needs to click the icon and you've got the auto copy which has a very large area where you can easily click and now you lost the color that is on the clipboard. there is also no control on the image size on the background overlay. But overall great tool, I am looking out for you guys.

Hi. To prevent different future incompatibilities, Color option is using core Color library of Gutenberg. I know that they will improve it in next Wordpress update

I'm wondering why there's no option to set defaults for GS blocks in Gutenberg Styles (styleguide) sections where all other blocks can be globally managed with their presets. E.g. Let's say I want to set blue as the default GS button block - I don't see any option to make it happen.

Can I use the new theme.json for basic styling and it will be respected by the plugin? Sometimes it's better to not confuse a customer or let play him around :-)

plugin will inherit your typography, font sizes, theme colors which you registered in theme.json, and also content size, gaps

I see the point being made about setting global styles in GreenShift vs in the theme but it's nowhere near as capable as you see in popular themes - yet... For instance, it would be great if the default preset colors were already applied to elements, such as header elements, text, alt-text, links/buttons, etc. - at least for GreenShift blocks - instead of having to apply the preset colors to those elements manually each time (maybe I'm missing something?). I like the idea of applying custom presets and wish that extended to the other styles beyond font size and color as well. For instance, I would like to design primary and secondary buttons with a particular border radius, fill color, border color, and hover effects and then set one or both as the default button styles that will apply to all button elements. Again, I don't expect this to work everywhere (such as applied to the site background or in third-party blocks) but it sounds like the recommendation is to use GreenShifts global settings instead of the theme's global settings. If that is the case, it should function in much the same way to extent that it is feasible to do so, and I was surprised that it doesn't even do so for GreenShift blocks!

all core elements like Heading, links, typography are already inherited from themes until you overwrite them in plugin, so your question is not clear. You can read more here greenshiftwp.com/theme-integration-with-greenshift/

I was responding to what was recommended in the video, which was to use plugin presets instead of theme global styles. I'm just pointing out that given the differences in functionality and application the types of presets are comparatively extremely limited and it is not an easy process to replace the global styles of themes. For instance, the presets are assigned to nothing by default and must be applied to each block/element individually, and then the only things that can be preset are color and typography. I'm currently switching from Stackable to GreenShift and seriously considered the advice here but after careful consideration I would recommend the opposite. There could probably be better standardization of global styles between themes but if a theme's global styles are automatically applied to blocks and elements, offer comparatively far more options, and are inherited by block libraries (but typically not the other way around), using the theme's global styling is far more preferable.

@@indigetal this video is a bit outdated, currently, Greenshift plugin has also a more practical Reusable style option. And we continue to improve it
