As a left handed player with a terrible right knee (specialist says total knee replacement is the only hope at this point), I tried this method on a range yesterday. Since the knee issue (years...) I have not been able to finish strong with a forward weight shift on my front leg. That produces weak, thin, incredibly frustrating contact on most iron shots. No grip, stance, ball position, etc. change or adjustments could help that. I think by accident the ground force swing actually relieves the stress on the front (my right) leg/knee. With proper sequencing - and it took a few swings to get it right - contact was again proper and ball flight was higher, truer and the small draw with longer carry and proper spin was back. That tiny bit of flex or "sit" with both legs and then pushing up and out makes all the difference. Thank you Larry and Matt for presenting this theory. At least for this 60 year old golfer, it has shown early promising results.

I'm someone who leaves distance on the table as a result of not playing as much golf anymore - my swing is out of sync and, in search of consistency, my legs have become quite static (like most novice swings). I've been working on speed and ground force in particular to help free up my swing and get back to reasonable distance. There are a few very good examples of this on KZitem, although Matt & Larry (and Ryan) here have done an excellent job of explaining and demonstrating those forces in a relatively short video. Matt - I'm loving all the recent content and you're smashing it! :) Cheers

@@lawbinson Thanks Rob, I've seen the video by Gabe and most of Dr Kwon's videos too. Zen Golf is interesting albeit slightly unconventional in how the info is put across - which is nice as not all golfers pick up info / learn in the same way. I used to have a very good swing where I could do this stuff - just very out of practise and trying to find it again :) Cheers

Awesome! Matt is probably a scratch or close to scratch golfer, but he's so open minded and curious in his learning like every 10+ handicapper should be. Curious questions force the instructor to give quality answers which helps us hacks understand the content a lot more. The former partnership was mainly about club testing. This new chapter is definitely about becoming a better golfer and helping the audience in the process.
