The one thing I’ve noticed from using triggers for about a month after i finally figured out heel toe. Is when I go do my ankle technique I’m not running out of stamina as fast as I would without the tigger because I don’t have to put as much force into the drumhead for it to be a loud enough dynamic

Dude, watching your stuff makes me wanna be a drummer but I think I'd better stick to guitar! Love all of the work you've done on my albums (and the ones to come!)

Hey Jason, you don't wanna be a drummer. Guitar is way cooler 😆Thanks so much! Great work on your channel too btw!

love the video man, one thing i wish you went over was what type of AMP that is needed just to have it loud enough to play in the house to be able to hear over my guitarist...i dont know anything about amps and no other videos talk about them. should i use a bass amp? guitar amp? keyboard amp? will a stereo system work? how much wattage?

Great question! Usually just a single powered wedge should be enough power to hear it through the guitars. If you're just looking to monitor it yourself, then just use the headphone out from the tm 2.

What's the best speaker to run your mixer through just for your kick triggers

hey cam this is unrelated to drum triggers but ive been playing live with my band for a while now. my problem is when playing live my kick drum always seems to get lost, either no monitors on stage for me or its just never loud enough for me to hear what im playing during my double bass runs. How would i go about being able to monitor myself live? i dont have in ears but im assuming ill need to get some

So you mix in a cranked bass drum head with the triggers? Can you maybe do a video for phone showing how you make a tight bass drum head sound good
@CameronFleury

Sometimes but not all of the time. You can always make a sample of your kick drum and then tune it tight and trigger your recorded bass drum sound.

Do you have any 808 bass drop samples for download or know where I could get some for my TM2? Thank you.

I’ve always wondered: is it possible to bypass the drum module and just plug straight into an interface for studio playing? Essentially use your PC as the module.

Negative. You need a drum module for your triggers to plug into to act as an interface between your computer.. either midi out from module into midi in on a regular audio interface then into your computer with a usb OR usb from drum module straight into your computer. Then you can trigger sounds from superior drummer, etc.. that part is a whole other thing in itself though

You dont need a module though right? Like I could just plug it into my audio interface and have the kick sound coming through the on trigger right? Like a module is just so you can add in more kick sounds to choose from right?
@CameronFleury
Жыл бұрын
You need a module. The trigger sends a signal to the module. The module then plays a sample based on the triggers signal.

I think my issues with double bass probably stem from not enough muffling and too loose of a batter head. Do you also crank the reso head on the kick drum?
@CameronFleury

The reso skin being super tight isn't necessary! We're just triggering the batter head, right?

What about running triggers to a PA system? How would that work?
@CameronFleury
Жыл бұрын
You can go from your drum module to a small mixer. From the mixer you go out from there and into an input on a PA.

I know nothing about triggers at all but my question is Can you run triggers for an acoustic kit through a Roland spd sx as or do I still need to buy a module?? What I would like to do is to import my own sounds to my SPD-SX and use triggers to play live but I’m not sure how to do that.
