Thanks for the video! My 24 y/o daughter and I (58 y/o) grouted my new kitchen backsplash (4x10 white subway tile, beveled edge), all 38sqft, with no problems using this product. It was easy to work with and your video gave me the confidence to DIY and not hire someone to come and do it for me. I needed my daughter's help to reach the upper wall around the corner sink. Thanks again!

Thanks a million for the tips. I used Mapei mortar on my bathtub enclosure (my very first tiling job, came out pretty good), and I bought this particular grout, of which I was warned, that it sets very fast. Looks like I should be able to manage the grouting just fine.

1st time regrouting, i cleaned my grout out, and found this product figuring easier to use and seems highly rated. When i put on my wall (i think i have glazed) the grout did not stick to the wall as nicely as yours did. not sure if i have to premix it more, but i ended pu just using my hands to work it in as the float didn't seem to work at all on my application. after i was done working it in i sponged the excess away which wasn't much. waited 5 minute or so and did another clean wash then moved on to next section. after all done an hour later i came back and used the scrub sponge and then clean sponged again.. seems to look really good.. joints filled.

looking at your video again, when you opened it, it definitely looked like your bin of grout was a better traditional texture,... mine was literally more like premixed concrete patch i used on my driveway.... i mixed it around and got it a little better.... maybe i got a less than par batch, or maybe i just needed to premix it a bit more.. overall i think it came out well though... just definitely wasn't like your texture right out of the bin.

Great video, about to start my shower wall with this stuff and it's hard to have confidence with so many weird hate comments on the product videos that seem to majorly contrast the amazing reviews this stuff gets. Wish me luck I guess. I just did a test block to get a feel for it and I washed it a bit to fast I think since my lines are a bit low, but it appears to go on nicely either way. Hopefully my real work will come out better. Good thing about this stuff, you can apparently give it a second coat without fear of failure. It bonds to itself unlike Portland cement based grout products. At least that's what Mapei says.

Update. It turned out pretty awesome. Boy is cleanup a chore and quite literally is like pushing adhesive around. But that said, it works perfect for me and how much detail I out into my work. Notes for others. This stuff works great on glass mosaic, but beware that frosted glass will require effort to cleanup. Subway tiles were a breeze, but it gets difficult to move the goop around rather quickly for being a glossy surface and yes, scratching is a real possibilty, though its possibly a user error thing, but very minor from what I saw. Overall it took me a good chunk of today to do about 70 Sq. Ft and a whole lot of water, which I find hot water works best. love the product

Good job on the video. I've read so many negative reviews of this product that I was contemplating returning it and just using what I normally use. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. I have 25+ years experience doing renos and such but have never used this type of grout. We shall see. Good choice on the tile too. The shower i'm doing is 4X16 subway tiles as well. Using the Pearl Gray color grout.

Even if you clean as you go, it leaves a light haze that's hard to see....Once the haze is on the tile, clean water/sponge won't work....It'll need a grout haze remover and it'll need to be buffed. I hate premixed grout.

Your removal of the grout may have went easier if you made the tiles wet like the manufacturer recommends. This grout has a hydrophobic property and comes of clean if you do it that way. 10 times faster than a normal grout.
@d1veralex

You need to start washing that off way before. 4 sqf at. Time id say. 2 buckets one for ruff was and one for finish pass. Also change water often you will get the tile clean with not haze. If you follow these steps its great to use. Very hard grout and waterproof.

Just like you said tricky to use and hard to wipe off the wall I've been installing tile for 20 years and everything on the market that grout is the worst why would you slow your time to one wall at a time when you can do the whole wall at once and then sponge it up just like he said this grout is a pyramid scheme at floor and decor is pushing off their shelves highly expensive and a disaster to work with specially with glass tile it leaves a waxy film on that takes forever to wipe off with a dry rag talk about getting carpal tunnel so much better grout products out there than this garbage grout I would not recommend this to use for professional or for somebody trying to do it at their own house garbage grout

@@victoria653 it's not difficult when you're working with small areasbut when you are using it to cover 1000 square foot oh flooring it gets a quite bit tedious or when you're using it on glass tile and all it wants to do is leave streaky residue that you basically have to let dry completely and come back and elbow grease the hell out of yes all grouts leave a hazebut it should just be a couple of wash Downs with a clean bucket of water in a sponge to get rid of it not sit there and scrub and scrub until your carpal tunnel kicks in LOL
