THis is the very first time that I see a video about screen time being "okay" and no "specific time limit" because my son is obsessed with sea animals right now and I was battling between not letting him-letting him learn through screen. Same with you, he does not watch anything he cannot learn from so I was kind of battling if I should follow how people do it, setting time limit, setting rules etc. So thank you for sharing your thoughts that learning and screen time can actually work together

I really enjoyed your take on this. I wouldn't say we're a super techy family but we definitely see the benefits of it. Our biggest issue is my kids tend to get caught in really low quality KZitem loops (think pranks, toy openings, baby alive, etc) and don't gravitate towards the more educational apps. I hate limiting it but I also don't want to rot their brains haha! Anyway, new subscriber! I'm really enjoying your content. :)

We took youtube off our kids tablets for this reason. If my daughter has questions about things we often look up videos about it but we don't let them have free reign of kids youtube.

We are very similar. We’re tech adopters. We use technology for lots of things. I ask my kids to get off the tablet if they are rubbing their eyes or if it’s been a while since they took a break. Otherwise, I think it’s a balance. They haven’t been on the iPads for a week, except for my 2nd grader playing Reading Eggs while my preschooler was in speech therapy. I do limit Kids KZitem. I don’t have real KZitem on the devices they use but one iPad has KidsTube. That is the one thing I put a limit on. While they think one child you tuber in particular is absolutely awesome, I don’t want them watching his channel all day. Plus it makes them get the “I wants” and that’s not a good thing.

Love your channel! Would you please list your favorite KZitem channels. And what shows do you kids watch on Netflix and amazon prime? Thanks.

This is so nice to hear! I also have an only child who is almost 8 years old and we’ve never restricted screen time. It hasn’t seemed like we’ve had to, as she’s pretty good about self regulating and sometimes goes days without tablet or tv time all on her own. Whenever people find out she has a tv in her room for Netflix, they gasp and I’ve always felt guilty about not regulating it but I’m so glad to hear of another family that doesn’t! 😊

We love tech and def screen time. I don't limit my kids when it comes to screen time at all, I never have. There are so many ways to learn through them. My kids learned Spanish from TV. We watch so many tv shows together and that's part of our family time. Thanks for sharing this video. :)

We are much like you when it comes to limiting. There really are no rules but they are instilled when necessary. My little girl is much like yours. She gets bored with one thing then moves on to the next. She is a mover so I'm grateful for that! I think boys are more prone to sitting longer at least mine were when it came to gaming!

We are pretty tech friendly. I don't let kids have tablets during typical school hours. We do school and they play etc. During that time. After 3 they get rest time with tablets. Then in the evening they play minecraft together a lot. I feel like that's better then watching tv because they are being creative. I also try to add learning elements to minecraft.

Have you always had the same "rules", even when she was younger?

When she was under 5 she had to ask because she wasn't as fluent on a tablet.
