@sm5574
2 жыл бұрын
I love that Studio One has tons of functionality built into all this, but multi-screen is unfortunately my biggest gripe with the product. Separating out the console display does not behave like a second window, nor does it behave like a traditional multiple-document interface. It's more like a non-modal floating window. I've actually had issues with this where the main window was not on my primary display monitor, and the "floating" window covered up a modal dialog, effectively freezing the entire program. Gregor says he only uses a single display, and I get the feeling that he's far from alone at PreSonus. My impression is that multiple display setups got very little beta testing. Reason handles the multiple display thing FAR better, but its approach to putting everything into a single window is less versatile.

Hi Gregor, thanks for your work. Here' a problem I have with multiple screens: My S1 is set to display on a secondary monitor (not the main one with start menu etc), and when a dialog box pops up (mostly error boxes, not the options box, for instance) they will come on the main monitor, even if I dsplaced this box to the good position the last time. I happened many times to think S1 had frozen when in fact, it was waiting for an action on the far away main monitor.

@@scorpio9200 No. Multitouch is a windows feature, if it works in windows, it should work in S1. You do need to install the drivers and calibrate, but the license may not be necessary. My friend, I too use an ultrawide, and the detaching windows are an absolute godsend - especially since ultrawide monitors tend to not be as tall as non-ultrawide monitors. If you have something with, say, 30 or more tracks, you can detach the mixer and have just one ultra wide mixing window without any of the song arrangement taking up vertical screen space. Adding to this, what Gregor said about fader resolution is at least somewhat more important for ultrawide users like us.

When I put my program material on a 2 TB external hard drive, and pull it up on my PC at home, I can visually see a small portion of those processors on the right side of my screen, but cannot pull them up, or move them over to the left add onto my only screen. I tried replacing them where the plug-ins are listed above the channels, but they go right back to the non-visible screen. still very limited. I am trying to get the MIX and the EDITOR on my 2nd monitor and while I can do this there is no option to automatically align everything. There should be and option to size vertically and horizontally automatically. Lets say, I want my MIX and EDITOR share my 2nd screen. I would love to click and make these two windows occupy (for example) 70/30% or 50/50% of the vertical height. Full screen for the mixer is an absolute waste of screen space (unless one has 4+ monitors). Just take a look how Ableton has done this

I'm using multi screen functions quite a lot, but lately I've been experiencing some odd things when the mixer is placed on a different monitor than the main window. The main issue is that dropdown menus for sends and inserts are not showing up unless the mixer is placed in the main window. I suspect the reason might be that the dropdown menus are just showing up outside the screen. It's mostly happening when using the second screen on my Asus Zenbook Pro Duo, but it also happens occationally on my desktop computer.

I use a Mac that has virtual desktops. I’ve detached the console and put it on a separate detached desktop that I swipe between since version 2. But since v5.3 (and I think 5.1), the detached console can’t be moved. I hope this is a bug that gets fixed rather than a new feature. I haven’t been able to have anyone try to replicate the issue, but when I launch 5.2 all is good, but not 5.3 and 5.4. Support said that I should just keep an eye out for any change. I would love it if someone could try replicating the issue.

When that happens, I have to go back into setup and put it back to side-by-side, move the plugin image into the middle of one of the screens, then go back to setup.....and so on. It really sucks.
