Neural needs to change this so the double delay can be set to random. Also there should be an attack randomization as well. That would probably sound more realistic.

This is a great idea. Being able to perhaps specify a range of that delay and then have it randomised would be awesome… although im not sure if that might mess with people who are very sensitive to monitoring latency etc.

Please try to add the classical ADT flutter in the lows and highs of the spectrum which ads some sort of WOW and FLUTTER independent of eachother in the lows and highs to really make the timing dynamic of the artificial signal. There are open source softwares that use this simple mechanic.

Actually it sounds pretty good to me. I used a different routing though. Splitter on 1st line. Amp 1 Cab 1. Doubler on 2nd line (Dry Signal off) Amp 2 Cab 2. So there are 2 different tones left and right. The pitch variation can help also...p.e. by using slight vibrato effect (just a touch).

My only thing with this doubler, due to delaying the signal on the right side of the stereo spectrum (which is obviously a direct copy) your brain still perceives this as one sound on your left, with the right side being a 'reflection' of sorts. This causes the left side to sound louder than the left side. Is there a quick way to volume adjust the right side of the stereo field to compensate for this effect? Edit: I didn't properly understand the way John explained it. The issue I stated is resolvable with no effort, my bad!
@josuastangl7140

Is it a direct copy? That would be disappointing and nothing we couldn’t already do with the simple delay. Maybe I’ll have to find out by trying to realign the two signals of this video and flip their polarity to do a null test.

@thinasmemories

That would defy the purpose and possibly cause phase issues as it basically applies a delay to the signal to create the double. I might be wrong tho. We can only but try once the update is out

@@thinasmemoriesAfter watching the vid a second time, John says in the beginning that the doubler split the signal in a stereo signal... so I think, it would be necessary to do a mono sum afterwards... Would be interesting to know, if this would be the same as a subtle slap back delay... Let's find out... 😊

Is it possible to take the two outputs after the doubler, into two different amps+cabs? If possible, you can double a signal, and further differentiate the doubled sound from the original. Would be sick!
@DamnDraa

At that point, I believe you’re just talking about a Y-split. Sure, it won’t have the “doubler effect”, but with two cabs do you REALLY need it?

@@DamnDraaan amazing trick to get extra stereo width without a "doubler", that I stole from Kristian Kohle, is to flip the phase of one of the signals before and again after the amp block.

Clearly hearing which side is leading. Was hoping for more of a Mimiq level of doubling tbh. Also I am hearing some artifacts in the highs and occassional build up in the lows/low mids. Listen to how much tighter the mono signal is. As someone who was really looking forward to this function in particular, I am honestly rather disappointed.

When you engage the doubler (especially the plugin, haven't tried the normal one yet due to gigging every day), do you re EQ it to match the tone you had before engaging the doubler? Just by turning on the plugin doubler i find that it alters my tone, it makes it more hollow, CERTAINLY NOT fuller. This isn't happening on my good old humble Fractal ax8 and the Enhancer block which was a perfect doubler. The effects in QC have still a good way to go in terms of quality. Shame

Too close or too far it sounds like comb filtering. Instead take doubler to more than 20ms and use impossibly slow modulation with the depth set as deep as you like. on the delayed side only. 42ms is the extreme limit. What is the limit of the plugin? It should have included randomized smooth pitch shift.

This one was sort of a let down. IMO, a doubler is only going to sound natural if both the left and right channels have minor delay and pitch randomizations that are independent of each other. Otherwise, you’ll always feel like the dry side is louder, and the effect never stays fully panned.
