@@Fany_ND Hmm, okay. Well, overall, it can really take some time to show improvements, as long as you tolerate the treatments well, but I hope they will work for you. I am battling ongoing forehead acne, and nothing seems to really work for it. So, I think it's really the food causing the problems. I got some new breakouts during Christmas when I ate a lot of weird, additive-rich stuff, lol. Anyway, my point is that we probably should focus more on the food, stress, and environment instead of solely on the treatments, using them more as a helper instead of expecting miracles. I recommend researching this on the internet, as I'm not certain about the concentration of each ingredient and pH range, especially if you plan to create a serum for long-term use or storage. In that case, it will likely also require some preservatives.

QUESTION: Can I pre-mix a bottle of Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (30ml) and a bottle of Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% (30ml) together ahead of time, and then just mix a palm sized amount of the mixed liquid with a scoop of the L-Ascorbic Acid powder at the time of face application ?

The problem is that many chemical reactions can occur due to the various pH ranges, especially if the substances have a long time to mix within the bottle. Therefore, I would not recommend it.

Hey, Melissa, thank you for the video. I follow your recommendations and find them so helpful. Always a pleasure to watch your videos ❤

Hmm, the low pH might be the issue, or perhaps it's due to certain additives. However, you could try forms like magnesium ascorbyl phosphate or ascorbyl glucoside. But have you also considered trying this powder and mixing it with a serum? You can adjust the amount of powder to suit your individual needs, making it a great product since it's customizable. Regarding enjoying the New Year, I wonder how one could possibly do so given the current state of the news. My goal is to stop watching it, as avoiding the news seems to make things much better. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and social media in general often bring out the worst in people. Sometimes, I imagine having a time machine to go back and prevent their invention, believing it might make the world a better place. How about you ;) ?

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I don't know if you recognize me since I've changed my username from waytgo:) Yeah, I get you, social media is bringing out the worst in people, cruelty is a norm. And in Poland things are messy, I hate politics, they divide people I'm going to try using your suggestion with diluting Vitamin C. I don't really have any discolouration but my skin looks kind of grey, too much stress in my life. My New Year's Eve, New Year Day and 2 following days I basically spent in the hospital with my mom, she's better now, back home, but it wasn't a good start into the new year. Well, let's hope that things are going to get better

@@onlyscience28 I noticed that you are changing names, but you still have the same image, don't you? The skin can have a somewhat grey and dull appearance, especially as we get older. I mean, you can apply cream to address the issue temporarily, but it won't change the actual state of the skin. It's just providing temporary visual hydration, which ultimately makes it look better, and some of that improvement may last. However, factors like stress, which many of us experience to varying degrees, can make the skin appear even more exhausted. But diluting the vitamin c product might be an option, so it's worth testing. I can't imagine what you're going through with your mom, but my husband's father also had two strokes. Luckily, he remained mentally sharp and didn't experience major issues from them. However, he eventually passed away from a rare, long-term illness just before the COVID-19 pandemic began. It was still a challenging time. I hope you can spend some quality time with your mom. Regarding politics, it's concerning because Ukraine is nearby, and depending on what happens in the war, it could quickly affect your region. It's unclear what the leader on the other side intends. Looking at the bigger picture, it seems like instability is spreading everywhere. To be honest, my channel isn't making much money either. Random ads have decreased so much that rising prices are causing problems, and the economic situation here is getting worse every day. But let's hope for the best in this tough time.

It won't dissolve properly, and it can also oxidize. For vitamin C, it's really best to always mix it fresh. If it oxidizes in the bottle (which it will do over time), then it can become harmful to the skin and cause irritation.

How come you don't recommend mixing the vit c with ferulic+ Res serum? .What makes you say doesn't work as well?. I always saw this combo as a recommendation across KZitem?. Also, why no niacinamide in the same routine. What eveidence is there to to suggest its not as effective or stops one working properly over the over etc ?.
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
Ай бұрын
Because Vitamin C is water-soluble, mixing it with ferulic acid and resveratrol does not work as well, as it does not dissolve properly in an anhydrous solution. This means that you should add something with water beforehand for ideal mixing properties. Additionally, there is still some research indicating that Vitamin C and Niacinamide should not be mixed, as they can form a complex, making one or both ingredients potentially ineffective or even harmful. Therefore, it’s best not to use them together, especially if you are mixing them yourself.

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I don't mix Niacinamide & Vit c together I do them as separate steps it's also a HA with 4% Niacinamide in it not on its own. It's confusing as many pros say it's actually beneficial to add niacinamide within the same routine
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
29 күн бұрын
@@jayedwardsuk5984 Yes, but there is no information supporting this claim. In fact, there is a real study demonstrating the opposite: that niacinamide and vitamin C should not be combined in high concentrations (If I remember correctly it was above 5%). No studies show that combining them is beneficial; this is just anecdotal evidence, which may or may not be true-who knows. However, I think it’s just marketing advice that everyone copied. I guess companies are hesitant to research this topic because so many have already combined these ingredients, or advise combining them even in different formulations, which could be much worse. It’s similar to the food industry, where entire industries rely on sugar, making it difficult to eliminate it from our plates or from the processed foods that cause health issues. Here, it presents a similar problem not only with niacinamide and vitamin C but with many other ingredients as well.

You have a youtube short combo with marine HA. Checking around seems you need to hit the mark of 2-3 ph for ensuring penetration? strange TO doesnj't disclose for resveratrol the ph? Have you worked it accurate numbers or approximate ? I guess that's what i meant to ask. I have promised my self not to meddle with Vitamin C... but i am short of eye timeless, (nice video as always btw) or give a shot on this cause i use resveratrol... but I haven't though for how to do it accurately through? a syringe? etc etc... ahg anyway appreciate your work very much especially on this product is a puzzzllleeerrrrr and if it really worths the daily effort... makes you consider timeless awesome deal. An anhydrous solution contains no water. Since water is necessary to measure pH, a solution without water cannot have a pH. However, the pH may not be significantly important. The statement that L-ascorbic acid is most effective at a pH below 3.5 is based on general dermatological knowledge. L-ascorbic acid is known for its instability, and lower pH levels help stabilize it, which is primarily relevant for the chemist formulating it. If you mix it fresh, it won't degrade quickly because it is applied to the skin immediately and is absorbed rapidly. Therefore, any mixture at or below the skin's pH will be effective. However, if the pH is between 4-5, it might be slightly less effective but also less irritating. However, due to the lack of direct comparison studies, it’s challenging to make definitive statements about their relative efficacy. I think the powder could be much more effective than the serums currently available. However, it's very affordable, and since there isn’t much profit in teaching people about it, it’s unlikely to gain popularity soon. Companies like SkinCeuticals (L'Oréal) will likely do everything to discredit it and have huge marketing campaigns running against these formulations. Meanwhile, others either have no interest in investigating this or lack the means for proper comparison studies.
