Great video thank you! Question, the two part polyurethane paint you applied first in lieu of gel coat. how is the adhesion to the fiberglass? will this work equally well with epoxy resin or polyester resin?

I think a mold with a mold flange and use of vacuum bag tape or butyl tape is better for larger parts and probably more efficient as far as materials go. While the tape may cost more than silicone, it's more effective for creating pleates without making a mess with the silicone and potentially getting it on the mold or the part.

only issue I see here is you should have cut the breather cloth larger so that it goes all the way to the tube inlet. No point of the breather if the vacuum gets trapped/stuck by the bag at the inlet.

Na verdade o verniz é PU. Eu nunca pintei poliéster no molde, mas não imagino que possa causar problemas.

He painted the mold, not the fiberglass part. A mold could be painted with any kind of glossy surface finish, doesn't really matter. A gelcoat would be used as the first layer in a fiberglass or carbon layup, as gelcoats can dry without exposure to atmosphere.. When you remove the finished mold, the gelcoat would be the outside layer that you see...

I have a question. So when you are removing the air from the mold. You check the vacuum gauge for the vacuum created. When you reach the desired vacuum how do you close the vacuum bag hose ensuring that air doesn't enter into the bag?
