In this video I show you how EASY it is to view retracted or deleted messages in KZitem Chat - even if you're not a moderator, and even if you're not logged in.
(I'm not logged in in this video, yet able to see a comment deleted by a moderator)
_____
In KZitem Chat, when a message is retracted by a user, or deleted by the streamer or a moderator, the message is replaced with the text "[message retracted]" or "[message deleted]" ...
However, the original message itself is not truly deleted - it is still kept within the HTML source code in your web browser but is simply 'marked' as deleted. But with my simple trick you can access it ...
I couldn't find any information about how to do this trick on google or youtube, so I've made this video to show you how to view both deleted and retracted messages.
You simply need a web browser capable of inspecting specific parts of the HTML. For this demo I have used the Mozilla Firefox browser, which as you can see makes this trick very quick and easy. No special software required, just your web browser.
INSTRUCTIONS (for Firefox):
1) Use your mouse to highlight the text of both the message and the username
2) Right-click, and click on "Inspect" in the popup menu
3) Look for the "message" span-id, which will show the message.
IF the message is long you'll see a tiny button with "..." - simply click on the button to reveal the message (as shown in this video).
ps. Sorry the video is slightly blurry - the original video wasn't, but it became victim to KZitem's re-scaling algorithm, which apparently isn't very good!
