I'm currently vacationing in a place that's very humid so my hair get really dirty about three days after I wash it, so I'm currently washing it twice a week. Surprisingly the braids are not getting too frizzy, there's some frizz due to the weather and the natural hair, but overall they look good, and I wash the braids the same way that u wash urs. Loved the video

Veniziano Vargas Your stylist did you wrong. She should have at least told you to use one of those no rinse alcohol based cleansers to cleanse your scalp and braids. You will still have to properly shampoo the hair eventually since this is not a substitute. It just delays wash days a bit. Also, if you are going to do braids and cornrows (or anything with added hair), you need to keep a bottle of diluted shampoo and diluted conditioner on hand. They have to be diluted so they easily rinse off your braids without getting stuck but not too diluted that they do not do their job. Tea tree and Lemongrass essential oils are also good at keeping the scalp healthy since they are anti fungal, anti bacterial, etc etc. You can add a few drops to your diluted shampoo and conditioner. You can also apply tea tree oil directly to your scalp. Lemongrass eo is way too potent and will have to be diluted in a career oil.

I’ve been getting braids for years and I’ve been having problems with length retention. I’m gonna start doing this with my braids once they start to look old. My hair needs the extra moisture from deep conditioning. Can anyone give recommendations of what moisturizer i should use weekly for my hair while I’m not washing it while it’s in braids ? I’m a 4b-4c hair type. I don’t have an oil that my hair typically dislikes and i currently favor the shea moisture leave in ( from the jbco line ) and the curl enhancing smoothie ( from the coconut and hibiscus line )

how about having a plate of baking soda on the side, and with your wet fingers, the poweder will stick to your hands. you can then wash and exfoliate the scalp as you scrub away. Is this a good idea? or do you think the baking soda will have an adverse effect. Thanks

stardollblox Baking soda has a ph balance of of 9.0. A relaxer has the ph balance of 14.0. Since hair has a ph balance between 4.5-5.5, the baking soda can cause the hair to let in too much moisture. If it does not become balanced again it will become dry and brittle which results to the horrid word...breakage 😷.
