Thank you for this, my dog is a big baby and though he won't hurt me on purpose, he becomes very wiggly. So when he gets a bath he usually scratches me when trying to get out. This helped a lot, calmed him down more and after he was dry he went in and out of the bathroom, which he's never done before. He's become more comfortable. Thank you again!!!

Lovely video. An extra general note for American Eskimo owners visiting this video: eskies have natural oils in their skin that can be depleted by too many baths. So be sure to research thoroughly your eskie's needs regarding bath frequency. (In many cases a thorough brushing will get an eskie clean without a bath.)

Punch it in the head... Im kinda of joking. There is no excuse for a dog to bite and if your dog is biting, then the previous owners, or yourself, have done a terrible way of raising it. Since you clearly dont know how to handle a dog, you need to take it to a professional trainer or give it up to someone who knows what they are doing, BEFORE your dog bites a child and seriously injuries it. For some motivation, my dog was badly abused as a pup. When we goy her, she would be super aggressive towards everyone. The ups man wouldnt even drop off packages, even tho the dog couldnt get to him, however after two weeks of hard work we got the dog to stop lunging at people and now anyone can pet it and she no longer parks at people just passing by - yes, it was embarrassing having an aggressive dog but it is what it is - now it only barks if someone is in the yard. Some perks are that the dog has become straight up family and i love the thing to death. I know as long as that dog is there no one is gonna hurt anyone it cares about.

I will say if you have a long haired dog it's probably a good idea to get some sort of brush and detangler after the bath, they are inexpensive and vital to keeping a dog from Matting because water absorbs into knots and Matts and can make them tighter which can pull on their skin and cause skin irritation. My dog doesn't like the brush but he sits and understands he needs to be brushed, you really only need to brush the parts where knots can form badly like behind the ears and the tail and the feet:)

I have a 4 year old Golden Chow mix and a smaller dog (1 and a half year old), we aren't sure of her breed still but we think she is mixed with a Jack Russel terrier. The Golden chow, we've taken him a bath at home before but we usually have to take him to a groomer because he's really fluffy and sheds too much for our drain to handle and he gets an undercoat treatment at the groomers. The smaller dog has barely any fur (though she still sheds) so we bathe her at home sometimes, luckily she's pretty tolerant of baths and our bathroom is small so she doesn't really have room to jump out if she wanted to

Thanks guys...very calm n loving way to handle fur-kids, good. Also for others to know, be vigilant if you opt to send your pets to grooming center...some heartless groomers tie out pets head n body in a painful way, so that once let go, pets won't be able to be active n rather just sit down quietly. PLEASE ADOPT DON'T SHOP 4 pets, millions in shelters n the street need a loving family to feel what is love :( :). thank you

how often do you need to wash your dog ? our dog smells bad alot ( I don't mind but my dad does haha) and if we use our bathtub, is the smell going to stick there? because they wont be so happy with that. :) do you use warm water or not?
@gangstamum
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, warm water. Test it on the inside of your wrist to get the temp right. It should feel comfortable but not hot. If its hot weather and a slightly cooler water temp feels good on your wrist it will likely feel good to the dog too. I start wetting my dogs from the feet and work my way up to the body. It gives them a moment to get used to the idea before going straight for their torso. When you are by the pool do you dip your toes first n slowly wade in? Usually a big plunge is a bit of a shock. Treat your dog much like you treat yourself when it comes to bathing.
