Do you use a top coat if you’re surfing in cold water or warm water? Good video though

Indeed you can, I always go for a blue base coat and then top coat with the right temp for where I’m surfing. And if I’m jumping between big temp changes (say Australia to UK) I’ll strip the wax off and make sure I rewax using the right top coat for the location 🤙

How did you get the lines so thin? Cool video btw 🤙

Glad you liked the video! I used the small edge of the wax which gives the thinnest line 😊

What do you think about throwing sand on the board to add traction?

Personally I’m not a fan and find it a bit too abrasive - definitely doesn’t feel great when you’re surfing in boardies 🤣

Does this technique also work for the soft top foam boards?
@StokedForTravel

It should do, but you don’t need as much wax on a foamie, just a light coat will suffice 🤙

How long does the job you just did last for? I surf too and I am trying different techniques and spots to see what is best. Great video by the way. 😊😊😊

So the main pattern (if you want to call it that!) should be pretty solid for a long time, I just do a light top up of wax every few sessions or in patches it feel like it needs it. Always good to strip it right down every so often for a fresh wax job - but I do that maybe once a year or if it melts or gets super dirty!

Not sure why my wax didn't make little bubbles like that?
@StokedForTravel

Couple things can stop it bumping up properly: 1) surfboard is warm (cause the wax thr smear rather than bump up 2) pressing too hard 3) wrong temp of wax 4) you might just need to add more layers - be patient with it! I hope that helps!

Not entirely sure but I’m guessing it’s just how it just starts to built up!

Why do you need to wax a surfboard?
@StokedForTravel

It creates traction and grip under your feet so you don’t slide off 😊

You can also do that, but I’ve found this produces some really good bumps. Dealers choice!
