I'm sure like most people I wonder if our motorhome is overweight when we go away, we are lucky in we have a fairly light motorhome with generous payload, but we still put a lot of stuff in to go away, so it would be nice to be able to check weight easily. I don't like the idea of weighbridge, both as you have to pay each time you use it, and presumably if you are overweight you risk being fined if its an official weighbridge !!
Our van is emptied out for winter, so tanks are empty, bedding has all been removed, so this is just van with cutlery/basics and me - listed ex works weight is 2650Kg with driver and 90% fuel so tallies with what I'd expect.
I've had my eye on the Reich Weight Control motorhome scales for a while, but they are fairly expensive - the yellow 1000kg version would be fine for a caravan, but not for our motorhome, so we needed the Orange/extra 1500Kg version which is more money again.
I ended up buying this from Obelink in Holland (www.obelink.co.uk), it came by 2 day DPD delivery and was a fair bit cheaper than I could find this for in the UK, they often come up on ebay but mainly the yellow/1000kg version ;(
I was nervous buying this as I couldn't find much info on how easy it was to use, so wanted to put this video up to show how it works, and that van can be weighed single handed pretty easily.
Hope this is useful, I have no connection with Reich or Obelink, just a normal consumer, so this is just my personal view on a product I've bought with my own money.
