How can I get to know if the weight is on front. Its difficult for me to see and tell if the weight is on front

Good question and there is no short answer to it. You can look at the horizontal balance of the horse. Horizontal balance involves the distribution of weight between the forehand and the hindquarters. Horses are naturally more oriented towards the forehand as they are heavier in the front due to their neck and head. Add a rider, and that puts even more weight on the forehand. Some symtoms of a horse heavy in the front is that the horse leans on the rein and uses the hand of the rider for support, like a fifth leg. The horse shows little shoulder-freedom. An unbalanced horse can become tense. Such a horse has problems relaxing and can show resistance to the rider. A tense horse will not give the rider a light, equal, elastic and vivid contact with the bit. An unbalanced horse will lose its rhythm when making transitions in tempo. The horse moves “downhill”. Due to the weight of the rider that is added to the front legs, strain injuries can occur. So, the horizontal imbalance makes riding much less fun and can even cause some serious issues. How can we enjoy our riding more and prevent our horse from strain injuries? The answer is simple but not easy: we need our horse to be able to carry us properly and in good balance!

@@gumarpetursson1057 is this too a sign that when the horse turns in speed the rider feels the imbalance of legs and even it can be seen as the forelegs moves faster than usual e.g a human with weight on front would do the same and take steps quickly.

The Icelandic horse averages between 13 and 14 hands, which would qualify the Icelandic horse as a pony if size were the only determination. In spite of its size, the Icelandic horse is not referred to as a pony by the equine community or registries. Whereas many pony breeds are suitable mounts for children, the Icelandic horse offer competitive riders a challenging experience. Their spirit, strength and weight-carrying ability make them excellent riding horses!
