Dude I really enjoyed this, I’m contemplating trying my hand at kit bashing and messing with styrene so watching this has truly inspired me. Brilliantly polished tutorial that really shows how much potential styrene has with a creative mind and a few tools 👍

It was... It is.. well it will be for sure ;) Your project really sparked my interest. The 130 hi-cap is a favorite of mine. I use to work at a custom Land Rover shop here in Maine, USA and we got to build some really cool trucks. We did 110 hi-cap but I never had the pleasure of doing a 130. You really captured the spirit of the vehicle in your build. keep up the good work!!

Couldn't find any hobby grade pvc amidst the quarantine. Bought them wee batrhroom plastic windows in a hardware store, they use them for covering the pipes and water meters, also only 2 mm thick. Also, has a frame, cut it up to make posts and the frame. Very flexible under heat and robust, guess it should hold up well vs moist as well and won't dry out and crack easily. Thought would share the tip if anyone has the same sort of jam. Great work by the way, sub'd!

I see so many people just scoring and snapping the off-fall or piece from the stock. Why? I have found that more often than not, it leaves a rough edge and even some times snaps wrong taking a bit with it then I end up having to fix it or re-cut it. So now I just go ahead and take a few more slightly heavier than light passes to cut all the way through, leaving a clean precise edge. The only cleanup is a good flat block with some 320 or 400 grit paper to knock off the ridge left from cutting, which happens no matter how you cut it. Cool build though. Well done.

Good video but a slight word of caution: If you're using a pointed blade such as an X-acto #11 you might want to wear safety glasses. A few years back I was cutting with a #11 and a tiny section of the blade tip snapped off while under pressure and embedded itself in my safety glasses....had I not been wearing them it would've definitely embedded in my eye! Be safe :)

Never tried vacuum forming styrene personally, but I don't see why not. Yes a dremel is commonly used, but a bit messy! I like the diamond tipped wheels best as they don't shatter like the normal cheapo disks.
