04:40 A 16 hr fast means your eating window is 8 hours. If you have a 3 hour eating window, then you are doing a 21 hour fast. A 3 hr feeding window is more like OMAD one meal a day, great for reducing weight, not ideal for gaining muscle. For the 8 hr fast the eating window, as stated is 11 hrs. so what happened to the other 5 hours? No water during a fast is brutal.

Thanks Champ, follower from Saudi. I try and bulk 2-3 weeks before Ramadan (dirty bulk 😂), then use Ramadan as a clean cut whilst focusing on not losing too much strength. I’m ok to lose some mass and lose HEAPS of fat. I eat good amount of protein at Iftar (6-7pm), then hit the fluids until Suhoor (4-5am) including 500ml yoghurt/milk drinks as my last meal, then I’m hydrated enough to do a maintenance session before the next Iftar (2 sets, no PB like you say, but keeping it heavy). I find if I stop the gym or go too light weights then my body loses all strength very quickly in 4 weeks during Ramadan. Keep up the great vlogs bro

Ramadan is a month meant to solidify and strengthen not only the physical but the mental/psychological sides of human beings. What use of fasting in the name of The Creator for 12-15 hours a day if it doesn't benefit one emotionally, spiritually and physically. Which is why I always do my toughest weight trainings before Iftar; to feel the intensity of thirst, starvation and hunger. Only then can one understand/feel how the unprivileged ones go through on daily basis. And lastly, as per scientific studies, the GH ( Growth Hormone ) is at highest level when fasting. But loved every single aspect described/explained by uncle Mike. Love you and long live.😍😍

One of the tricky things with training in Ramadhan is the Taraweeh prayer (if you want to pray it, which I do like to do in the mosque). This leaves little time for training after breaking the fast. training after that is pretty effective, like Mike said if you can switch your sleep pattern and sleep more during the day and training/work evening and night that is optimal. Like a lot of people that timing does not work for my life. As someone doing his for years, I always try bulk before Ramadhan, then I find Ramadhan good for cutting. Training, have to just compromise, can't train like normal. Train when u get time either first thing when have more energy or just before Iftari time when even though can be tired, not long to wait to hydrate and eat. Less sessions is inevitable but like Mike says more focus on quality.

Just an honest question: Aren't you supposed to count your fasting hours from the moment you stopped eating? Because what you're describing with a 16H fast is actually a 21H fast... Normally you stop eating at for example 20H and you fast until 12H, which is 16 hours pf fasting. Ok, you're not immediately in a fasted state, but that's not how you count fasting hours, no? Or am I wrong? Also with the 8H fast you start counting at sunrise, BUT people that do Ramadan don't do 8H fasting, they do fasting during the time the sun is up, which is never only 8 hours... People that do 8 hour fasting are not doing the Ramadan. Or am I missing something? It could be me? I don't want to diss your advice, I'm just legitimately curious. Thx!

This month is more of a night life where we pray 2 hour extra in mosque at night, workout at night, again pray around 3-5am. Then eat suhoor before sunrise. And then sleep till 1pm mostly 5-6 hours. Sleep schedule gets bit messy but some people also sleep around 10pm till 4-5am, and pray 1 hour extra and do suhoor and continue their day as normal but they struggle a lot because they don't sleep throughout the day

during ramadan its best to cruise n maintain rather than trying to keep growing because for most people they end up eating in a caloric deficit, so protein is not gon be at the optimal level during the 2 windows of eating we have, plus lack of sleep that is chronic in some cases, plus also dehydration. Your body simply will not have the resources to recover from the stress and damage that is undergoes while working out as one would usually do. So the goal of working out (Slightly before Iftaar or go after iftaar) , to do as little damage as possible to the muscle while still giving a good stimulus for your body to hold onto it, id say you could resort to isometric holds of lets say 80% of your 1RM for 1 or 2 set for 10 to 20 second holds at mid range or contracted position. Another way would be to half everything down, lets say i can do 10 reps on 70kg on lat pulldown to failure usually, i cut it to about 4 to 5 reps so that you do not get into the zone where you stimulate growth or get you sore that will require quite a bit more resource that your body doesnt have to recover from.

This is spot on. However, most of us function normally for work, family, school, etc. Hence, the real challenge are just 2 things: 1) Finding the time after breaking the fast and prayers to workout AND 2) sleep. During Ramadan i average 4-5 hours of intermittent sleep due to prayers and normal working schedules. Also, building muscle is possible but really, it’d be realistic to just maintain. Lastly, electrolytes is key before and after the fast.

If fasting and feel weak working out in it, it doesn’t hurt to use amino and and scoop of protein with C4 or banana 🍌 , especially if you didn’t consume enough protein / calories / nutrients from last night meal. If you don’t want to go that route make sure consume enough macros night or day before. Best eating windows are 12pm - 6pm or 3pm -9 pm split in 2-4 meals for the 18hrs of fasting.

Working out while fasting can be safe and effective for some people, but it's essential to approach it cautiously and listen to your body. Here are some tips for working out while fasting: 1. **Choose the right time:** If you're fasting all day, consider scheduling your workout during the late afternoon or early evening, closer to when you'll break your fast. This can help ensure you have enough energy and hydration to exercise effectively. 2. **Stay hydrated:** It's crucial to drink plenty of water during your fasting period to stay hydrated, especially if you plan to exercise. Dehydration can impair performance and increase the risk of injury. 3. **Opt for low to moderate intensity:** During fasting periods, it's generally best to stick to low to moderate-intensity workouts, such as brisk walking, yoga, or light strength training. High-intensity exercises may be more challenging to sustain without sufficient fuel from food. 4. **Listen to your body:** Pay attention to how you feel during your workout. If you start to feel dizzy, lightheaded, or overly fatigued, it's essential to stop and rest. Pushing yourself too hard while fasting can lead to injury or other complications. 5. **Break your fast wisely:** After your workout, be sure to break your fast with a balanced meal containing carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats to replenish energy stores and support muscle recovery. 6. **Consult a healthcare professional:** If you have any underlying health conditions or concerns about exercising while fasting, it's a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional or a certified fitness trainer for personalized advice. Remember that fasting and exercise can affect people differently, so what works for one person may not work for another. It's essential to find an approach that feels sustainable and healthy for your body. 💪🙏

In 1.5h I’m drinking 2.5l. 1.5l water and 1l of water with electrolytes (Humantra) Have a light suhoor meal. 4 eggs, some greens, hummus, and pita. Go back to sleep. Wake up at 9 am and start my day. Go to work. At 5pm I’m in bjj or gym. Workout for an hour, shower, 15 min later Iftar starts. Have a nutritious and abundant Iftar meal 1-2 and hydrate. Go to bed at 11pmish.
