If you are using a vinyl seating fabric you can use "S-18 all purpose adhesive" or contact cement instead. Watch this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/w2uGzX-Jpmhyh2U

I would pick the Sailrite Fabricator Sewing Machine. It is a compound walking foot sewing machine, needle moves with the center foot for optimal feeding. Here is a link for more information and videos on the machine: www.sailrite.com/Sewing-Machines/Industrial-Sewing-Machines/Sailrite-Fabricator-Sewing-Machine Let me know if you have any questions. How thick should my plywood be for a base on a bench cushion, the cushion will not be load bearing as it will be placed on the bench. The plywood is just to hold the foam with a vinyl cover, I can go 1/8 or 1/4
@SailriteDIY

I would go with 1/4". 1/8" may warp under the pressure of the vinyl cover.

@@SailriteDIY thank you for the response, yes, after looking at the 1/4 at the big box store, that’s what I went with. After cutting down to size, it’s thin enough and very sturdy!

This makes sense, but I apparently chose poorly with my fabric. It’s a faux leather and it’s too stretchy - so by the time I get near the corners the fabric is already bunching up. Can’t figure a way to avoid visible pleats. Live & learn, I guess! If anyone has a clue or suggestion…

This video may help, but you need to test to see if your faux leather fabric can be glued with contact cement, which may require some testing: kzitem.info/news/bejne/w2uGzX-Jpmhyh2U
