Very useful. I like the directness of the video and the helpful tips. I understand that a lot of people are looking for particular things in a book and I believe that you hit the proverbial nail on the head--all the taboo subjects need to be brought out. Why? Because that is what people are looking for in a review. Fantastic.

Half way through a school term and we finally stop doing last term’s stuff and we start the new units. We have 1 week to learn about book reviews (we didn’t get taught anything useful) and now we have to get the assignment done in a week. Isn’t that great. Then I find out I can’t do the book I read for the task because after reading it during quarantine I find out we can’t do sequels. All the school shit is driving me crazy and it doesn’t help that covid made it even worse. Another bad part is I just recently got surgery on my knees and now I have to carry a bag full of books, water, laptop, food while going up to all my classes which are painfully upstairs. It doesn’t help how they still have a phone ban even though it does more harm than good and they can suspend you for wearing the wrong type of socks. Wtf Is going on.

Also had to watch for a class. Not sure why teachers think this is a good video. Not a great video. 90's video game background music was distracting. "Cons" before "Pros" advice is backwards reasoning. Attention spans are so small these days, that if one reads negative things first, chances are they will stop reading the review before they get to the "pros" and never read the reviewed book. There's a reason that the phrase is "Pros and Cons."

Have you read "I am Jade Falcon"? In 1984 a tabletop game about giant robots fighting started to have a lore. The game is "Battletech a game of armored combat" It was like Dune without worms and with giant robots mounted with heavy weapons. The tabletop game is like chess with math and it is being used by parents to keep their kids sharp in math. But make no mistake. Battletech books are NOT for children as they develop very adult themes. I read "I am Jade Falcon" and it is about a skilled woman fighter called Joanna from clan Jade Falcon who pilots one of these robots called mechs, and she was dishonored by a vicious defeat in combat. Clans were the descendats of self exiled warriors who departed the Inner Sphere after the glorious Star League was destroyed by a civil war. They promised 300 years ago that they would return to recover Earth and so they did. These clans had very singular cultures and you can tell. How does she deal with social rejection and defeat in her life? She is very frustrated by her situation. This book is like an inner trip inside the psyche of Joanna and not so much about giant robots fighting. It is a good read for people who feel under appreciated and with a failed life. The book describes her fights and struggles to regain her lost honor. Among these warrior clans, honor is the single utmost important thing in their society. Clans fought each other under the stange codes of honor that they have. In this book, the cultural aspects of the Jade Falcon clan are described in detail. If you bought this book expectibg many giant robot battles you may get disappointed. This seems more suitable to play the role plaing games that Battletech has to offer. If you want to see these giant robots in action you may love to visit "Battletech fan" youtube channel, the video about how to install Mechwarrior 2 demo for PC. It is a cool action packed game from 1995. It contains a mission of Jade Falcon clan defending a firebase in an alien planet.

Thank you for making this video. I found your video helpful and I just used your advice for writing my first book review. Check it out and let me know if I did a good job or not? BOOK TITLE: House of Prayer/Den of Thieves A Memoir of My Escape from a Cult AUTHORS: Arlen F. Bradeen & Loistene A. Bradeen OVERVIEW This book is about exposing a specific cult leader and their corrupt organization disguised as a Christian church. A wolf in sheep’s clothing-The cult leader is referred to as Jimmy who uses the bible for indoctrination. Jimmy is described as one who is subtle and wise and knows how to manipulate and twist biblical scriptures; just like an old-subtle serpent from the biblical account found in Genesis. CONS - I felt concerned for the victims and wonder why this organization still operative? - The testimony stories would have been better for me if they revealed their first name at least. - I would have enjoyed the book more if there was a section for just testimonies: maybe it is already in the works for part II? POTENTIALLY OFFENSIVE CONTENT I just want to give a heads up to the readers of the following content: - Real-life child abuse accounts - Fear, violence, and fraud - Criminal activity from the organization such as real estate and deception. PROS - I felt the book was especially strong in the area of cult leader awareness. - The book provides tools on how to identify a modern-day cult leader. - The book is very informative and it provides intel from insiders who escaped the House of Prayer. - The authors offer helpful resources and have made themselves available if anyone is in a similar situation. (See www.hopcc.com and their email is faithhopelovehealingministries@gmail.com) - Insightful why many people never leave a cult. QUOTE Here is an excerpt from the book In the book of Matthew 17:7, it reads, “Jesus came and touched them and said, ‘arise, and be not afraid.’” Years ago, I heard an illustration that a tourist was visiting the Holy Land, when he saw a man in the field chasing sheep. The tourist got close enough to say to the man, “Sir, I thought that sheep were supposed to follow the shepherd.” The man then replied, “I am not the shepherd, I am the butcher.” In Matthew 17, the voice from above said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” The son then touched the three disciples saying, “be not afraid…” So, if you are afraid of the pastor of your church, that person may be a butcher and not the shepherd.
