I plotted out my novel a few days ago...i spent the last 4 months reading mysteries, so i'm going to try writing one. i created 10 characters, but only 5 or 6 are vital. i figure it's gonna be 20 chapters, just about a novel range...my goal is to have a draft done by xmas, Ms. Sage 🙂

Congrats! That’s amazing to hear! Sounds like you are in great shape to start writing. It will be an amazing Christmas present to have that draft done 🥳

@@ANSageWrites I'm a published poet who thinks he can write fiction...i've written 7 manuscripts and a memoir over the last 20 years and I think this one might be the one...But i'll keep writing no matter what 🙂

If done right, a novella can be deeper than a novel.

This was such a great video, and now I really want to check out your story because it sounds so cool! I am writing a novella about a cryptid called “the Rake”, which was inspired by a “creepypasta” I found online several years ago.

This video is really helpful as I am a very experienced writer in the longer epic fantasy genre but my first novella is a co-authorship I am doing right now. So thank you! Keep writing and keep up the great work! Blessings!

This was very interesting! I had never thought about some of the points you made. How does the editing process differ when writing a novelle?
@ANSageWrites

For me, the main difference is taking away instead of adding. It seems counterintuitive but a lot of cutting goes into editing a novella to keep it succinct and the pacing fast.

Thank you for this. It was informative and helpful. Is it possible for a first time novella writer to get an agent? Or would you “self publish” to begin with?x
@ANSageWrites
2 жыл бұрын
I believe most agents are looking for full novels though I could be wrong on this. I would double check the agent's requirements when submitting to make sure they are looking for novellas first.
