Hi Jonathan Armandary. Im from south India. I got to know about you from Udemy. The lessons u choose and the way u teach is quickly directing to production. Awesome!. This is what I have been looking for across all. Great !!! Is there any other website/channel you own with more structured course? (other than udemy/youtube) Wish you all the best !!!

Thanks Senthil! My website is soundtrack.academy - I only have my Udemy courses available at the moment, but I am working on more content for my site too. What kind of things are you hoping to learn?

Excellently delivered tutorial. One of those moments for me where these ideas I had experimented with before, and not known the full insight. Differing from counterpoint, to melody, and the part. Each in their own way are exact methods to explore in tandem. Thanks.

7:36 - 7:56 Don't know if it's intentional or not, but this is, (at least this part...) This is Count Olaf's theme from Netflix's ASOUE

Oh really? I haven't heard or seen it! Tried searching for the theme you mentioned but can't find it anywhere. Send me a link!

@@soundtrackacad Yeah! I was like: Man! XD Jonny likes ASoUE! Unfortunately, the theme is virtually non-existent on KZitem. I found a video where it appears but audio quality is poor, but you'll hear it there. ;) kzitem.info/news/bejne/qoaoraqIr3-hZm0. If you have Netflix, check it out, it's a masterpiece of series. Dark, twisted humour and drama if that's your thing. Great content on your video though! I was just sidetracked a bit. I like it when tutorials do more than just tell you something. Having examples are great!

Wow, it really is the same pattern! I've honestly never seen a single episode - it's worrying how easily a theme / pattern can be accidentally "copied" even when the composer hasn't heard the original. Especially with the recent music plagiarism court cases...makes me feel composers are potentially very vulnerable at the moment :S

@@soundtrackacad I agree. That can be a bit nerve-racking. However, I think plagiarism is more of a problem if the context also happens to be a copy or emulation of source materials. What I mean is, if you're writing a theme for a nefarious, comical villain, such as Count Olaf but with a different name, then having a "copy" of his theme is a problem for sure. But if it's something completely unrelated, then hardly will it be sensed as a copy or plagiarism, just an interesting coincidence... At least that's what I think. ':D
