Man, I needed this video!! As a guitarist of over 10 years, my BIGGEST struggle has always been writing. I’ll spend hours at my computer always unhappy with the outcome, and usually get stuck in the “noodling” phase (playing variants of basically the same riff) until I get depressed enough to walk away :( I’m excited to spend some time applying some of your principals this week! Greetings. You have a talent for explaining complex things in simple terms. You should definitely start a guitar lessons playlist on your channel. And 2 questions, if I may - 1. What kind of picks do you use, I noticed yellow and green in your videos. These are some variations of Dunlop 0.73 and 0.88, as I understand it, some that are larger than Jazz 3, apparently. Sharp or regular? 2. Why did you choose such thin picks (considering the genres you play)?
@joaoldmedeiros
Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much friend, glad you think so! These are the Tortex III, yellow is .73 thickness and green in .88 Thin picks means better tuning stability. It also means more agressive attack, thick picks sound more woofy to me

Great video, your riff alone made me subscribe Make a full song or I'll be sad Another trick not to get stuck is: Change tuning I switched from E standard to FACGCE and i literally wrote a 7 minute song afterward Changing tuning (especially with open and strange ones) makes you think in a different way and may help you get out of the same-riff-loop that everyone Every now and then is stuck into Greetings from Italy Also your tone is the best thing I've ever heard in while

Good video, the worst enemy to my riffs is insatisfaction: create riff, think it's cool, play it again, think it sucks... That's horrible
@joaoldmedeiros

That can be a shame man, but be sure that they don't suck!!! Just write a lot of them 🙏
