@@DinnerForkTongue Yeah definitly. I like vtuber music (and clips) a lot and it definitly is my main interaction with vtubers at this point (both pretty busy to be able to keep up with streams and also while there are many EN vtubers around now and it can be fun to follow along even with the language barrier but the language barrier is something of an obstacle in having a willingness to keep up with streams live sometimes). Which can theoretically be replicated in the video upload style. But without streams you don't learn that much about the Vtuber themselves and form as close a connection to them. Well, connection might be too strong a word but livestreams definitly have a greater pull in holding people in and to get them attached to following someone much more than videos do. I am quite sure I wouldn't have been part of the Vtuber fandom much without streams even if I did enjoy the clips from time to time. I mean, I had learnt of Kizuna Ai pretty early but forgot about her not long after after watching a few videos. But after getting into Hololive and Nijisanji (it was a few months before Myth debuted for me) the number of Vtubers which are connected to each other and livestreams one can keep following and look forward to really helped keep the engagement and keep me stuck in the proverbial rabbit hole.

Dang look at these old-timers. 😆 Seriously though, you would have thought that there was a bunch of YT streamers, then vtuber streamers came into being, but no. Back then you had personalities who edited together their gameplay or commentary into videos. Then there was vtubers making content (Miko started out this way) in the same way. But when vtubing entered the streaming space, it just matched so well and became the norm.

Back then, VTubers just made pre-recorded content. The VTubers that did livestreams were often .PNG tubers.
@negation1029

The most funny thing about the early days of Vtubers is when Vtubing start to get popular, many will commission an artist for a png of their OC, then say they're predebut Vtuber that will debut in the next 2-3 years 95% of them disappeared after 2 months because who would've thought people will loose interest in you very fast when you just want to interact with your inner predebut circle and not producing any content
@jjQlLlLq

The ones who stay that I see tend to be those who work with what model they can afford and just right away make contents as they slowly improve their vtubing assets. Debuting in the next few months, let alone years? Yeah I'd like to see if they're even still interested to do vtubing 😂

Nijisanji really changed the vtuber environment. Popularising Live 2D streams over (mostly) 3D Video Uploads. Even Hololive started all 3D with Sora and Roboco before transitioning to Live 2D with Gen 1 (thought they continued 3D as well with Miko and AZKi alongside L2D with Gen 2 and Gamers, thought Cover pretty much fully went with L2D after that, considering IRyS was the only vtuber released apart from the regular generation structure (like the current Gen 0 members) but unlike them she started 2D (well, Suisei also started 2D but she was an indie, not a part of Cover, as I am sure a lot people are aware.))).

I can understand commissioning someone to draw your avatar you will use as thumbnail (indie often don't get much fanarts going on), but to do the thumbnail itself seems ... redundant to me. That's like the part where least effort were needed as most thumbnails are practically just "image + text". Each on their own, I guess.
@yukishikama6457
Жыл бұрын
The thumbnail is the first impression that people will have on your videos, there several little details(Sizes,colors, placement, etc) when making one that can help attract people to click on the video Without a good one people will only look at your videos if you are already a famous creator
