I started watching you and other boatie YTubers. I realized why I started watching you. Actually listening to you. I have your videos in the background as I work. Your voice is so soothing. And when my eyes go towards the screen, you are such a beautiful couple to watch while in great locations. Keep doing what you're doing.

Hey Kristina, to avoid things go sliding of your table or kitchen tops... Place a moist towel first on them, and then you put everything on top of that. Nothing will go sliding anymore, I promise. I learned that on those Big Ocean going Tugboats I use to sail on many years ago. Wishing the two of you and your followers a wonderful 2023 ❤👄

Hey Kristina & John, well what can I say but another fab video. Loved the way you can drive that tender Kristina & love your blond hair. As for John I think a good old captains beard would suit him fine. It sure is another world up there in Nth Qld & looks like the best way to see off shore is by boat as you can stop wwherever you wish. You guys seem to be getting a better tan each episode. Well guys thanks so much for keeping me entertained almost each week with new videos. I wish you both a happy & safe 2023 & stay safe on the water. Regards.

At 10:40, about the dangers of boiling water on a boat, I just had the idea that a pressure cooker may be suitable in such a case. Even for pasta … I always do even pasta in a pressure cooker, it just needs figuring out the exact amounts and timing once, per type of pasta, and then it works every time. (Probably don't use the Indian-style pressure cookers with a weighted valve on a boat, though. If these falls over, they may spray around hot water through the valve.)

Buy a leather apron made for welding. Wear when boiling water or hot liquid while heeling. I haven't been able to try it yet but a dry bag is supposed to make a great low tech washing machine. You add your clothes, a little water, and soap and then roll the top closed. You roll the whole bag around and squish it back and forth. Then drain and rinse. It does seem easier than a bucket. If you two spend much time hand washing then maybe give it a shot and let us know what you prefer? 😀

Great to let us know a bit about the cost of sailing. When cooking at sea a safety trick is to dress in the sailing trousers. Then you wan't run the risk of getting burned by boiling water. Greetings from Norwegian sailor

Hey Shane!! Happy New Year! 😀 John and I have managed to cut down on our water to a fine art!! 😂 When we installed the salt water tap (to mostly wash up and clean dishes) we were able to get our fresh water tanks to last us 5+ weeks!! 😃 And we’re pretty lucky in Aus, at most marinas we don’t have to pay for water, it’s free on public jetties! We literally run out of food before water 😂 But who knows… a 5 minute shower every night would sure beat 5 seconds 😂 Now you got me thinking 💭 and dreaming! Haha

When I showed John the final episode that’s what he said!! Haha 😆 Great minds obviously think alike! Getting your boat set up can be expensive initially, so your first year could be expensive, but then after that, besides general maintenance you can really live cheaply in my opinion and do it for $10-15k a year!!! As long as you don’t get a big ticket costly item hit you hard (maintenance wise!) Much love and HNY Steve!
