Planet of the apes released in 1968, it looked like shit all the way up into our era until we fixed it with proper cgi. Same goes for star wars. Transformers? Blade runner? Tron? These are just the some of the best examples of cgi intensive movies that require the cgi. Many movies use little bits of cgi u dont even realize that completely changed the vibe of the scene. It does "usually" help the movie immensely.

My first comment was going to be how good your cg aerial battle turned out so I'm blown away to discover it was mostly hand puppeteered miniatures. Everything in the film was first rate from cinematography to costumes, sound and the score. It was a labor of love and that shows. Hope to see your names on a full feature film sometime soon!

Honestly the best visual FX are the ones they did as normal concealers or touch ups. Its the stuff you didn’t notice like windows, objects or drop in composites. Sound is hard especially for airplanes because the volume of the planes is often as loud as the machine gun fire. And in the air it shouldn’t be so distinct. It should have more space and distance from the cameras position to that of the sound source especially when dealing with high rates of speed like planes. Its a small but crucial detail.

Some of the GREATEST movies were shot on very low budgets. Where one doesn't have money, one must improvise and use their creativity. An examply of a low budget movie is the original Star Wars. These days they use 90% or more greenscreen throughout the entire process. So boring, obvious, and lacking substance. The best movies are ones that have good story lines and where the audience can relate to the characters. Karate Kid 1 (not a lot of action but one of the best character association/relation movies).

Great effort, and the planes look 100% realistic. What always ruins CGI for me is when I see these planes move. They're always too fast and agile. Relative motion is very seldom accurate. Like when the Heinkel crashes, it's too fast and agile even for an RC plane. I think that's the biggest improvement area in CGI movies. Great little movie nonetheless, we need more of these.

This Short Movie is Brilliant.... looks every bit High Budget and Big Movie Studio produced. I was amazed by how polished yet POV throughout film. It looks and feels like WWII somewhere safe from Nazi Aircraft. David is about to have the adventure of his lifetime. Casting David was pure magic. His acting is so IRL that it doesn't look like acting at all. Very natural and nothing distracts from the story line. I first saw this short on Omeleto. It is fun to have a back stage pass as you share your perspective. Obviously someone got a good foundation in film school. But that is just a starting point. You took that and added your own blood, sweat, and tears. Bravo... well done.
